Huh, this seems like a decent story...I'll keep an eye on it.
I'm confused.
The earlier chapter implied heavily that Rainbow's always been a changeling, and if her dad isn't one as well then he at least knows what she is.
But this Iris thing implies our protagonist wasn't even named before.
About the only thing I can imagine is some sort of 'back-up persona,' and Rainbow being certain her life is over, but that really should have been explained in the text if that's the case. That, and...

Um. Author, I didn't have to read past the first half-sentence of the blurb to realize this was a "Rainbow Dash is a Changeling" story. Your spoiler a few lines later was kinda superfluous. And so was mine, but I put it there out of respect for your intentions, whether superfluous or not.
I'll read it later; there was one story like this that I read a long time ago where she didn't even know her own secret, until the L-bomb went off. It was good. So you'll get a try.

I'll buy that Luna could have missed their cutie marks due to being at certain angles, and that she was likely at one of those angles (straight above, or nearly so) - but I can't imagine any angle at which she could have seen the strange ponies' eyes well enough to see their color, but wasn't able to see their manes - the only way that's even half-possible is if they were facing her head-on, in which case, how did they run away? If they turned to run, she should have seen their manes!
