So begins the second story arc. I really hope you enjoy this arc as much as the first one. College is going alright so far but it is still early days yet and I don’t feel confident enough to be able to update as much as I did over the summer. But, what can you do, right. Anyhow, here’s the next chapter.
Chapter 11: The New Day
The light of Celestia’s sun manages to pierce through the peaceful sleep of Twilight. With a slight groan, she maneuvers herself to try and ignore the bright rays, but their constant presence finally manages to awaken the purple unicorn. With a slight yawn, Twilight makes her way down to the main area of the library in order to get some breakfast. While walking down, she tries to recall the dream she had last night, even though her mind is still half asleep, and the only thing that she can remember is that it involved Trixie somehow.
Upon the thought of the blue unicorn, Twilight remembers the events that transpired yesterday and recalls that said unicorn was currently located in her basement. Facing the reality of her hidden crush in such a close proximity manages to cause unknown feelings to surface within Twilight’s heart. She is still unsure about her intentions but as long as that tack remained in place, she will be powerless to get an answer. Normally, such a minor annoyance as a tact would not cause Twilight pause, but due to the fact that it was a part of the Saddle of Servitude means that she was unable to remove it until the time of punishment is over. Twilight had to admit to herself that Trixie played a rather desperate card in order to return to Ponyville, but now she wondered what her true intention was. The only thing she is sure of at this point is that it involves her in some way.
Vaguely, Twilight hears the familiar sound of claws scratching wood, and without looking up from her morning tea she says, in a motherly tone, “Good Morning Spike, did you have a nice sleep?” Spike of course grumbles a reply before making his way to the counter to pull out a bowl of emeralds. Spike had returned sometime after Twilight had gotten Trixie’s sleeping arrangements in order and was unaware of the blue unicorn that was most likely waiting for the appearance of her ‘mistress’. Twilight knew that Spike still had a rather sour opinion about Trixie, though she’s thankful that he wasn’t as bad after hearing about Rarity forgiving her for what happened. Still, the purple unicorn knows that she has to let Spike know, and she figured that this is a good time as any.
Meanwhile, the internal time clock within Trixie lets her know that it is around morning time. The sound of her stomach growling only further convinces the blue unicorn to cast of the realm of sleep and return to reality. It is an action that she was almost reluctant to perform for reason being that she was enjoying a rather pleasant dream involving Twilight and herself. She has no doubt that it was a dream created by the part of her that had fallen in love with the purple unicorn and it only furthered the conflict in her heart.
So far, the plan that Luna had conceived is working perfectly. By wearing the rather uncomfortable and smelly attire, she had managed to not only gain access to Ponyville, but also give her a sense of immunity to those who might want to get revenge on her and get closer to Twilight. It was a strategy that famous military generals would be proud of. Still, there was the downside of having no access to her magic and very limited walking and talking. There was also the fact that she was at the beck and call of Twilight, but Luna did say it was going to cost Trixie a bit of her pride. Still, she believes the positives are greater than the negatives at the moment. She actually believes that she was going to be tied up to a post outside rather than be provided with a rather decent bed.
It was around that moment that she started hearing noise coming from upstairs followed by a pair of voices. Though unable to tell what they were saying, Trixie is sure that it was Twilight and that dragon of hers. She manages to make her way out of the bed and does her best to get her coat and mane to straightened out. Said process is a slight annoyance due to the fact that Trixie lacked her magic and any kind of brush. She would have also liked some kind of mirror so that she would able to see how she looks, but she isn’t that concerned. All that mattered at this point is that her only focus should be to serve her ‘mistress’ to the best of her abilities. What Twilight will ask of her is another matter entirely.
Before she could ponder on this further, she hears the voices stop and the echoing sounds of walking before ending with the slight creaking sound of mildly rusted hinges on a door. The sudden appearance of light slightly blinds the show-pony but her eyes recover to find herself face to face with her ‘mistress’ Twilight. She has a rather excited and almost playful look on her face that causes a slight confusion to appear in Trixie’s heart. Trixie was also aware of the purple infant dragon that was standing by the threshold looking slightly annoyed by the fact that the blue unicorn was in the same house as he was. Before Trixie could ponder anymore, she sees the familiar purple aura covering Twilight’s horn and the reins appearing in front of her face, being held up by that same purple aura. Twilight then says in a voice that sounds almost too happy for the current situation “Come on now, We have a lot to get done today and not a lot of time to do it in.”
Alright, time for Twilight to become the ‘mistress’ and Trixie to be the ‘servant’. Who thinks they will do a fantastic job in their respected roles?
I think that they will only be able to function as parodies of those roles. Twilight isn't really assertive enough to really be able to order around someone magically bound to her without sounding like Fluttershy ("If you don't mind...?"). Trixie will be subconsciously chafing at taking orders and will come across as vaguely sulky if co-operative to an extent. Things will smooth out a little when Twilight gets a better idea of what to do with her new acquisition that lets Trixie work towards freedom. Right now she's on autopilot and not really coping well.
twilight looks a little too happy
First off, glad to see you are settling in your new situation. I hope you don't get too boggled down. Good luck with everything.
Secondly, I was so glad to see an update, I read it immediately. I have to say, this was a good start. However, Twilight seems a little too happy for being Trixie's 'mistress'. She has too remember that Trixie is there to make amends for the 'crimes' she committed. I think Trixie's facial expressions will say it all as she is given tasks to perform. Especially, without her magic. I wonder if each of her friends will get a chance at Twixie's redemption.
I understand you can only put these chapters out when you have free time. I will be happy as long as you finish.
1207188>>1207215>>1207252 Well...you know what they say. Its always the smart ones . But I am really glad for the constructive feedback. I do plan on having the rest of the girls interact with the show pony while going into a bit more depth about the Saddle of Servitude. Honestly, that name was literally the first thing that popped into my mind and when I posted it and realized what I wrote; I had a serious case of face-hoof.
Still liking it, though you're flipping tense between present and past throughout this chapter, and it makes it read a little weird.
For instance,
"She would have also liked some kind of mirror so that she would able to see how she looks, but she isn’t that concerned."
Though at first glance this may seem fine, if it's going to be written in present tense, it should read
"She would also like some kind of mirror, to check her appearance, but isn't that concerned."
Whereas if it were written in past tense,
"She would also have liked some kind of mirror, to check her appearance, but wasn't that concerned."
Please keep writing, I'll keep reading!

I just thought of something today. It might be a good idea to explain in the story what happens to anypony that tries to get retribution against the wearer of The Saddle of Servitude. Twilight did tell Rainbow Dash not to confront Trixie, but not why she can't.

That is a very good point that you have made. I will be sure to include it in the near future.
Okay, this is just me, but that saddle is disturbing as HELL!
