Tumbleweed

A guy. A guy who writes stories. Stories about ponies. (And sometimes robots).

E

This story is a sequel to Seven Girls, Nine Hundred Forty Three Miles, and One Minivan.

When the Ponyville History Museum puts a strange and mysterious artifact on display, Sunset Shimmer starts acting strangely. And so, it looks like Twilight's the only one who can stop her ... or will she help her instead?

More in my Equestria-Girls continuity! (But again, not intricately tied to the other stories, so it works as a standalone). Set vaguely before the Camp Everfree movie, but after Friendship Games.

Oh. Oh. This could go very, very bad if these two are neither careful nor lucky. Should definitely be interesting to see.

7670943 She's probably surprised how it ended up in this world in the first place.

Tracking! I literally couldn't stop laughing at the beginning. :rainbowlaugh: Plus, I'd like to see where this goes. :raritywink:

Will the Dazzlings appear in this series?

Oooh. Yeah, given Sunset's past, it's a sure bet that she knows about the Amulet and its powers. (Either she learned about it as Princess Celestia's student, or -- equally likely IMO -- she researched it independently as part of her whole "Power up and take the princesshood that I deserve by raw magical force!" plan.)

I'm very much looking forwards to seeing where you're taking the girls this time.

I wonder how they'll determine if its the real deal and not some harmless replica.

Ah, This Platinum Crown-style fanon about the Blueblood line being the curators of ancient eldritch artifacts and secrets?

It's been too long since there was a decent Blueblood-isn't-a-bastard fic running. Well, there is Gilded Sister I suppose.

“She's not talking about anatomy, Rainbow.” Rarity noted. “She's talking about … you know. Weaponry. Rapiers and arbequesues and glaives and the like.”

Methinks I sense a secret RPG geek.

And the plot thickens! That's an impressively clever plan they had, but of course nothing ever goes quite as easily as that.

Now let's just hope that SciTwi can keep her curious mitts off the Amulet, because as Trixie showed, it's really bad ju-ju.

Loving this one already. I was hoping that there was going to be more to the theft of the artifact than just these two chapters, and I'm not disappointed.

An excellent heist, though I do find myself wondering why people are wearing lab coats in a museum. In any case, very intriguing developments here. Definitely looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.

Just so you know, Fimfic doesn't tell people you've replied to them unless you do it in the same chapter as their comment.

Well, I did once title a story Let Me Tell You About My Character.
You decide. :)

At first I was disappointed that only Sunset and Sci-Twi were getting in on the action, but now I have hope that we'll get our 'Ocean's Eleven' moment yet, :rainbowdetermined2:

kul

Oh man, when I see the name of the Alicorn Amulet, I thought its going to fall to the most underappreciated magic user (?) in the movie!

Ponyville History Museum

I'm confused; I thought the home city was called Canterlot in EG. For all we know there isn't an EG Ponyville.

As the artiste of the group, Rarity should have schooled the others about the difference between classical nudity and nakedness.

Nice use of dog-Spike, and I'm very curious about EG Blueblood. Is Blueblood related to Celestia and Luna in this world? How did he get the Alicorn Amulet, and what is he planning on doing with it? What can he do with it in the EG world?

Don't tell Rarity what you suddenly need two fancy ballroom gowns for...

... Or do tell her, and then bring her along for the job so she can keep Blueblood distracted while you hunt down the amulet, :rainbowkiss:

7678145
Yeah, I really doubt Sunset and Twi are going to be able to keep the rest of the girls out of the loop. (Spike already knows!)

7678223
I hope you're right, though from the looks of the story tags I think this might just be a two-woman show, :applejackunsure:

Didn't notice it before, but Celestia is up there as well; I wonder if she has a deeper role yet to play in all this... :trollestia:

Oh God that was great. Keep up the good work! I love Twilight's slight panic about what sunset said to Celestia. It's so good!

7678223 There's no way in hell the rest of the girls would be capable of pulling this off. Maybe, maaaaybe Rarity, but she wouldn't even want to.

:trollestia: Plot twist, anyone?

7681552 there's an emoji for that:twistnerd:

7681698 I'm kinda new here. Thanks!

Ooh. Zecora showing up is complicating things quite a bit. She just nabbed the Amulet while Blueblood was getting more champagne, didn't she?

Well, that's quite the additional wrinkle, especially since these two are in quite the incriminating position right now. Also, I do not like how eager Sunset is about those promises of ultimate magical power. I get the feeling that someone's going to go demonic tongiht; I'm just not sure who...

So, it's possible Zecora used the Starswirl Solution: Taking your dangerous magical artefact and/or beast and chucking into a place without magic, hopefully not destroying it or them in the process.

Now I wonder if that's human Zecora, or the one from Equestria... And I also wonder whether Blueblood is aware of all the girls around him being after the Amulet.

I guess Zecora made off with the goods while Blueblood was popping his cork, :trollestia:

Also out of curiosity, why is the jacuzzi gross; just because it's in the bathroom? :rainbowhuh:

I was wondering how long someone would take to post that. :)

LLLLLLLLLLLOVE IT!

Well that was entertaining.

Seriously, I love this little continuity you've made. It's silly but it's also full of action and romance. I loved this and I hope to see more soon.

Speaking of "more," ever considered doing something with the Dazzlings. I think you could make something interesting with them.

A delightful conclusion, somehow both what I expected and surprising at the same time. I admit, the climax had me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for another wonderful installment in this series.

I approve this Zecora. Also where can I buy this new globe-conquering game, maybe I'm better at politics than flat out battle.

And then Pinkie Pie jumped out of something and shouted "Fuck already!"

Oh lawd, I can't wait to see what you have in mind for Zecora in a later story.

And then, Celestia apologised to her nephew because she insulted and manhandled and threatened him when he hadn't actually done anything!

... No? Well, I can dream.

Also, I choose to consider Twilight and Sunset close friends here. No romance tag, after all. :trollestia:

Well, that didn't end up as much like Ocean's Eleven as I was hoping... but there was water involved, so... close enough? :rainbowderp:

I get this funny feeling that when everything is said and done, all they'd have had to do was ask Celestia for it and claim Equestrian Magic as the need. Once they knew that Blueblood was related anyway.

They should probably get a list of possibly helpful contacts from Princess Twilight who's counterparts could help them in this universe.

Ah, this chapter answers my question about Blueblood's relation to Celestia. And I just now noticed the Zecora tag, which has me intrigued.

And Zecora makes off with the Alicorn Amulet as silently as she appeared.

This was an enjoyable little story. I loved the subtle references to BY THE BLACK AXE OF NIGHTMARE MOON.

THE ALICORN AMULET.

... Shit.

“Tough crowd.” Rainbow grumbled.

No, it just wasn't funny. Not even worth a groan or a "Goddammit".

Alicorn Amulet? Oh Hell naw!!!!
