This story is a sequel to The Choice
No one defeats Death. He harvests souls, destroys nations, ruins planets, and crushes stars. No life can escape his clutches forever. A clever pony may evade his plans for a time, but Death always wins. That is the rule. Death is coming and cannot be stopped.
But Death has found an enemy. Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna refuse to surrender. Twilight is determined to save her friends and her beloved home. Twilight is not afraid of Death; she has defeated him once and she is coming for him again. It is time for Death to fear her.

Hmm, a thousand trillion? That's one quadrillion years, or 10^15 years. Most scientists say that the universe will end in maybe 10^100 years.
Maybe even in half that time, ~10^50 years, which is the shortest theoretical time that it takes for protons to decay.

I'm impressed. I wondered if anyone would pick up on the reference in the title. It's from Paul (but I am a Potter fan).
Years ago I saw a Twilight Zone episode that depicted Death as a kindly young man who was a good thing. It was a clever episode but I have seen too much death to think kindly of it. I am on St. Paul's side. I want to see Death terminated.
For what it's worth, "the light is strong against the dark" is a quote from the Xbox One game "Child of Light", which I really enjoyed. This tale will be filled with references.
