Well, from one side Sombra and Nightmare both have alicorns and Equestria as common enemies. On another side, Sombra and Nightmare have their differences, so they can only unite against common enemy. Again, this battle in Canterlot can be just a ploy for Nightmare to gain common ground with Sombra here - as "my enemy's enemy", and then strike him from behind. Althrough I see this as unlikely, as Nightmare is not one to use subterfuge.
So, waiting for a new chapter.
