I would -love- an editor. I have a fallout crossover story already 13 chapters long, but it was written in Word and was butchered by the site's formatting. I would be willing to send you a Pdf copy of said story, if you were to spend the time converting it to a txt format. As a bonus, you get to read the story of course :3
Solid idea, well rounded writing, and keeping it interesting. First chapter has been a good hook, hope it all goes well :D
I was going to give this story a favourite and an upvote, but then the last chapter happened. I really don't know where you are going with this. I'm not sure I like it very much; it put a bad taste in my mouth compared to the beginning of the story. It suffers from mood whiplash and has inserted itself into heavy drama, which requires some care to do well. There are many ways it can handle that right, and many more it can handle it wrong, so...
I'm going to wait to see where the story goes from here before I pass judgement, but the Changeling, despite getting character development and coming back, still left him to rot for months, for a thing it could have fixed from day one.
That's months that all his friends suffered, unable to do anything to help him as he wasted away. Months of worry, months of not being able to participate in the guard, or learn more about the new world, and many more months of recovery ahead.
You should put that this is M/M ship story in the information.

I have two fallout crossovers in the works at the moment, but im thinking of scrapping my first one entirely. It was the first story ive written, re-enlistment being my second. Ive gotten better with each story writing attempt, and looking back at the first makes me cringe from the amount of re-writing i would have to do. I could still post it anyway after i spend time formatting it, but it relies heavily on bolded, underlined and italicised text. The site here either doesnt support the conversion from word to txt, or i have no idea how to make it do that. Ive been writing this story and my third all in a txt document, then pasting it to word for editing, then pasting it back to the txt document in order to edit it. Re-editing and writing that first story would take alot of effort as its over 57k words long already. I dont have the fortitude to go back and salvage it, but if someone else wanted to go through that effort, i would gladly post it.
Ok, wow. This has one really massive problem that it so disruptive it makes any other problems hard to see...
Random 'return' strokes in the middle of sentences. That is hugely disruptive to the flow and just plain super weird. Also weird but insignificant is... a 'space' at the beginning of the paragraphs instead of a 'tab'. Clearly supposed to be indentation, but the paragraphs are double spaced so that's not technically necessary leaving the incorrect method simply odd. Probably wouldn't even be noticed if the paragraphs weren't randomly broken.
Oh, and those were just two random examples, there were five I counted in this very short chapter. Of course it is possible I missed a couple, if they just happened to have the break on the far right based on my screen size... which is usually how that kind of thing slips by editors.

Oh! Very sorry about that. Thanks for finding those. Its a problem with the converting from word to txt that i had to do, so it has that happen. Ill go fix those but they shouldnt happen all that often if i found all of em.

I apologize for the long wait, but its going to be awhile before I can post another chapter. The computer I was using to write on went Fubar and it will take me awhile to get back on track. The story isn't dead, but I'll update it when I can. Thank you for your understanding!
