Mudpony

Confound these wretched equines! For every one I fling away, a dozen more vex me!

A story I wrote almost three years ago, but never got around to publishing. Stumbled across it while looking through some folders, and figured, "Hey, why not?"

Also, some relevant metal:

Very nice, I liked it a lot. :yay:

Liked the Fresh Prince reference. :pinkiecrazy:

I wonder if Twilight ever gave credit to Trixie?

The cover art makes this story seem like it needs a sad tag. Why doesn't it have one?

6983451 Thanks.

6983599 Probably not. But never fear, Trixie will take it sooner or later!

6983610 Trixie's life might have its ups and downs, but her life is not sad. Especially by the end of her tale. Her life is looking up. A quick stop to amaze the ponies of this small town, and then on to Canterlot and glory!

As to the art, well, I picked it because it has Trixie, her wagon, and snow. That she isn't the most cheerful makes sense. I'd imagine hauling a wagon through freezing weather and snow would make anyone feel a bit down. Oh, and because it is an awesome piece of fan-art. gign-3208 does some good work. :raritywink:

That was a lovely little examination of Trixie, and just the perfect length it needed to be. I loved it.

I like this. It's original, it's well written, and even if it's not perfect from a technical standpoint, I think this will stand well on its own. Good job.

"It was there that Trixie heard his tale. Years ago, he had met the love of his life, only to lose her. He did not know where to find her, but that did not stop him from looking. Half of Equestria he had searched, and he swore that he would search the other half if that is what it would take.

Nice tie in to Cranky Doodle Donkey.

Animals could be juggled by magic, and someday, somepony would read her paper and prove it to the world.

If Trixie really did write this, wouldn't Twilight be surprised.

Yes, in West Canterlot, born and raised. In a playground is where Trixie spent most of her days.

'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'?

I am guessing this is set before 'Boast Buster'?

Yup, just before. Ponyville is her next stop.

7036554 Yeah, it is very one-sided. If I recall correctly (since I wrote this roughly three years ago), it was for some EQD prompt related to telling why a pony travels or something. I picked Trixie to write about, decided to go with her telling her story, and hence why Pravda is pretty much a plot device to let her monologue. The only part of the first draft that wasn't finished: a ??? for where his name went. ??? being what I used when writing in Wordpad to indicate things I still needed to do.

Maybe at some point in the future I'll bring Pravda back. Perhaps to talk with Trixie again, or maybe with Gilda or Cranky. Heck, Flim and Flam could be fun. Lots of potential for the ol' Russian stallion to chat with the various characters that might be prone to traveling Equestria. And if I do, well, then I'll most likely make the story less one-sided ;)

And that said... Thanks :pinkiehappy:

I like this, it was gripping.

That girl's been through a lot! But I like that you make her look forward to what life will bring her, despite her many past misfortunes. It takes certain bravery to follow your dreams, and she definitely has it. Best of luck, Trixie, and thank you for sharing the story. :raritywink:

Nice slice of life for vagabond Trixie. I'm surprised that there aren't more stories like this about her. Her life as a wandering performer lends itself to so many possibilities. Glad that I found yours.
