So, my friends and I woke up in this forest none of us recognize, and were scattered by these wooden dog things. Now I gotta find my friends before we get into any more trouble. Now if only I wasn't a foot tall, and can say more than "Eevee"....
Eons.
"Hey."
That's how long I've been waiting for the seal to weaken. Or break. The humans locked me away for interfering with 'their world'. And It's all gone down hill for them since. They forgot the old ways, when human and Pokemon would work together without confining my children within those damnable balls.
"Hey."
And the company I'm forced to keep could have been better.
"Oi!"
"WHAT?!"
"Nothing much." That infuriating demigod had joined me in this near black void what feels like an eternity ago. "I just had a marvelous idea."
".... If I respond, will you avoid pestering me for ten minutes?"
"Maybe."
I sighed. "Fine." This had better be better then his "I Spy" idea...
"So, I've been thinking, since that's all I can really do around here because someone won't talk to me, and I had a thought. It just came up to me and smashed a gauntlet into my snout, the rude thing." I rolled my eyes. "Still, it had some merit. I thought to myself 'How much longer do I have to wait for enough Chaos to build up to free me'? I know I don't want to spend another eternity here, so I'd need a cunning plan-"
"Get to the point, Discord."
"You're no fun. Honestly, first Celly, now you.... " He grumbled. "Fine, fine. I plan on setting things in motion to make my return even easier if they stone me again."
"And how does that involve me?"
"Well, I'm going to be using some of your children to do so. They won't actually be any of your children, just their identity."
"You swear? You wont use any of them in your schemes?"
"Cross my heart, and all that nonsense."
"Then I see no problems with it." I reluctantly agreed. I'd hate to be the poor fool he ropes into this... I let the silence grow between us. "... You would have still gone through with this if I denied you this, wouldn't you?"
"Oh, most certainly!"
"Then why bother asking?"
"It's only polite."

Well, at least he has manners......
Oh Dissy, you cheeky buggar!!
6996272 That's a given, just remember he even apologized to the stool upon which his statue had been placed upon.
Discord manners were never in question, just his sanity.
Who? Arceus?
Pokemon like being in pokeballs. In one game, it's implied that more pokemon bug trainers than non-trainers, because A) they're basically trying to show off how tough they are and B) they're jealous of your pokemon for having a partner. It's a 100% symbiotic relationship.
Regardless, not a bad start.

Not to mention that Poké Balls are generally quite comfortable to be inside, and being with a Trainer means the Pokémon gets to explore outside their natural habitat, since they'll be getting stronger and will be taken care of by a human should they get hurt or sick.
So being caught is nothing but beneficial for the Pokémon, in their eyes; sure, there's a few that don't like being in a Poké Ball (Ash's Pikachu), but all the other things are still true.

But even if it feels good doesn't mean it's morally good.
(though the problem with morals is that they tend to be largely subjective)
This chapter makes me feel like it's someone like Arceus speaking, in which case, it would make sense that, he would care and have a problem with how the pokemon are treated, even if they themselves do not.
PRICELESS but sooo short...

Pokemon god, created everything i think

Pretty much.
...damn okay I’ll stop putting this off and read it. (That was really funny I could barely stop laughing long enough to write this)
This was a fun reread.
I've looked at the Pokemon category of fanfiction.net and was very disappointed. There is very little "Human turned Pokemon" fics. Which is kinda understandable, I guess, but there isn't even any Pokemon stories questioning the status quo of what it means to be a trainer, and what the hobby of catching as many Pokemon as possible really means. I would write one, if I had the free time to actually go through the Pokemon anime.
Not to mention the absolute horror that is Gym Badges if you think about them too long. (Namely, the part that lets you "control" higher level Pokemon.)
While this fic probably isn't going to address those issues directly (since these Pokemon are not going to be native to the Pokemon world, it looks like), it is nice to see that at least someone is mad about it.

From what I understand, the official anime has now done this through the character of Go, showing that it's an unhealthy and frankly insane thing to even attempt if you don't have games' magical PC storage to cover the logistics.

I've always thought of the badges as proof of experience. Your character in a given game doesn't have much experience, and therefore lacks confidence. More badges, more confidence, stronger pokemon listen to you because you carry yourself like a leader. At least that's my interpretation.
I’m assuming Discord is talking to Arceus right now?

Gen 5 already addressed that issue and honestly trainers are kinda needed considering before poke balls were made humanity was kinda done for if a Pokémon attacked

Though that’s the thing it’s good for both Pokémon and humans.
Humans get protection from wild Pokémon and trained Pokémon have more comfortable lives and the opportunity to become way stronger than they ever could .

Just finished "Rarity gets caught", by lord_steak, and it really went into the morality of Pokemon trainers in the Pokemon world. Definitely worth reading if you like the philosophy.
A great quote from it:
Looking forward to seeing where this story goes.
