Luna was starting to notice the lack of basking in her night. Whatever basking there was of the moon was considered taboo and even shunned upon. But those who have, still kept strong. One filly in particular, was not so lucky though. Her basking of both day of night for years have caused her several bruises from her father. One day, the filly's mother caught the father doing that same thing to cause the little filly's bruises when she had to stay home. Now, the mother has taken this injustice to Princess Luna, who was glad to help out this young filly.

Rated teen for implied use of alcohol, heavy themes and minor profanity.

Another fanfic featuring child abuse for the sole purpose of cheap emotional manipulation?

It must be a day ending in the letter Y...

P.S. The word "flying" doesn't really work as a substitute for profanity, especially among a species where one in three can actually fly.

6724211 Actually, I went off of what the show said. I made some adjustments with what i thought the timeline of Equestria's beginnings.

King Sombra actually worked his way to be king in this fan fiction's backstory.
I noted that some ponies would still be believe that their kind is better than the other two from prior to the founding of Equestria, very much like after the Civil Rights Movement here in America; thus, the Pegasus Khurbn combined inspiration from both the CRM and the Holocaust.
This takes place is almost exactly a year before Nightmare Moon started her short reign so that Luna's regret would have more weight. And Luna's jealousy was the reason that Medium decided to play her part as lover of both day and night to look at the moon. However, Medium still had school, so she just went to bed during early twilight so she could look at the moon when she woke up.
But that's one of three reasons why Min Praise had done such despicable actions to his own daughter. The fan fiction never mentioned why he was doing this in the morning because it's in Medium's POV. But Min was very light sleeper and I mean A VERY LIGHT sleeper. He also assumed that his daughter went to bed after twilight ended and that she'd wake up when the sun was done rising. Second, he was one of those who still believed what everyone else did before the Windigos invaded. Thirdly, the stallion was always rash faced at night, having no idea what he was doing because he had a severe headache every morning.
In fact, the one moment that anyone could tear up to is when Life Seal angrily defends her daughter, and PROSECUTOR RED RIDGE supported what Life Seal said! As a bonus, Min Praise wasn't really exiled just for child abuse. He was actually exiled for illegally buying oiznic bottles. And another thing was that Medium put a facade in front of everyone else by not mentioning her father for a little over a month before the fan fiction actually got going and hand- err... hoof waving why she kept getting bruises all the time, which Polly Spot was the first to point out for the facade doing as much damage to her as her father did.

This fan fiction was based on Ellen Foster, but unlike that book, this does a lot more explaining, especially in the first half. Plus unlike Ellen Foster, or ANY of the books I read at school, this fan fiction actually SHOWS just how DANGEROUS putting on a facade could be. Facade means no one will know what's really going on in your life, and if they don't know what going on in your life, then they won't know how to help you, and if they don't know how to help you, you'll have deal with something on your own that you can't handle on your own, which means that if Medium kept the facade on by still going to school even after she heaved, the problem would've kept growing until it literally killed Medium.

6724211 Also I said MINOR profanity. I used "fly" in context of what would've assumably been fake anger otherwise. I, myself, don't swear, period, but I can add in words like that only when necessary, so that means that there's no N, F4, F6, C or J bombs at any cost.

A bomb - Used once in the chapter, "I Stayed Home Today."
B5 bomb - Not to be used any time soon. I'm quite content with "mare".
B7 word - Not used as of yet.
D word - Used a few times in the second and third installment of the You've Got to be Foaly Kitty Me trilogy.
G3a bomb - Not used as of yet. This should only be used when saying "beautiful".
G3o bomb - Used a total of three times, once each story ever since From Home to Equestria.
H word - Used once in the chapter, "What Happened to Everyone".
S3 bomb - Never to be used, period.
S4 bomb - Used only once, near the end of Should Equestria be Home.
T bomb - Never to be used.
W bomb - Never to be used.
