*jizzes* no more heroes and mlp:fim fuck yea

*explodes succulent equine juices from secret organs*

A more or less faithful novelization of No More Heroes with a clever pony twist. I like, I like.

fluttershy the sexy gal. Me Gusta

My first MLP fic so I want to get familiarized with the MLP universe before making a serious fic.
Also, this will break away from the NMH storyline and have its own unique story to tell. I promise not to just spice up the NHM universe with pony puns, although that's not really such a bad thing.:twilightblush:

do we have to know what No More Heroes is?
cuz i dont know...

Hey, more power to you. If it was just No More Heroes (BUT WITH PONIES), it'd get stale fast. I'm already seeing originality with the Colgate fight. Take these two continuities, (MLP and No More Heroes) and make them your combined bitch. So to speak.

91898 it would help, but from the way this fic is, its not necessary since this is basically just taking nmh characters, replacing them with ponies, and changing up the characters to act a little more like the ponies

ok thanks, ima read now

Well, you've certainly got my attention. Not much to complain about here.

Tracking This, but whens the next chapter coming along?:rainbowderp:
Still working on it?:rainbowhuh:

As a full time college student and part time worker, my time can be stretched thin. I work on this when I can and I'll update as soon as I get a chapter finished. I don't really have any solid dates or schedule when it comes to updates. :twilightblush:

that was awesome. i think you pulled-off the doctor just fine :pinkiehappy:

im going to guess that the next fight will be pinkie pie since the next fight is supposed to be a parody of the shinobu fight

AWESOME TO THE X-TREME:pinkiehappy:

Lol love it roxy the god of da fics for now......

Ok,now things are getting interesting. I have only one question in my mind now, which pony's goin to be Henry? :coolphoto:

128646 im guessing spitfire

hmmmm :)
i like this...a lot

Applebloom was such a badass, but why couldn't Dash remember her?

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!

OH SNAP.
THE PLOT THICKENS.
I really want to know where this is going. Something tells me Fluttershy isn't telling Dash something... Oh, wait. She's filling in Sylvia's roll. Of course she isn't telling Dash something. :derpytongue2:

I'm just wondering if we're gonna see Bad Pie or Miss Pinkie Motherbucker.

This made my day! :pinkiehappy:

Awesome as always but....I was expecting derpy hooves. :derpyderp1:

FUNFACT: I made a NMH/MLP crossover to that uses OC villains and not cheap, lazy, ponified versions of the NMH assasins.

I bet you managed to dress yourself today too. Your mother must be so proud.

Why do I have the feeling that if you write a Desperate Struggle fic, Scootaloo will be Kimmy Howell?

<spoiler> Because you would be correct. </spoiler>

I can already tell who's gonna be Harvey in here.

I really like this story so far, it's good. And i don't think of this as a parody i think of it as an alternate universe. And another thing, i know they have hooves, but i don't think that means they can't hold stuff. Like in the episode "Luna Eclipse" Luna held an apple with one hoof, and in "The Canterlot wedding" , there's a scence with Pinkie playing with Spike with the wedding decerations for the cake, she was also holding it with one hoof. So i think they can still hold onto stuff with one hoof.:derpytongue2:

I hope Applebloom comes back soon.

Come on, this is getting good and even better finish this so you can get to desporite struggle. I wanna see how badass Applebloom is when she goes up against New Destroy Mare.

:SO AWESOME:rainbowkiss: But when will the one for Letz Shake be posted?

HOLY SHIT! PINKIE PIE IS DESTROYMAN?! O.O

I have to say, I really enjoy your work. You really seem to capture the essence of the game through the ponified script along with creating some inner turmoil in Dash's character. Well done! Definitely a favorite and I'll try to keep reading as it updates!

Also, like the many above me, I'm going to try my hand at something fairly inspired by No More Heroes as well, although... we'll see exactly how that goes in the near future.

As a NMH fan I must say I'm loving this, but come on, you're missing a major part of the No More Heroes essence: the prowrestling! I hope I t least see one mask with a letter in it in the later chapters, but otherwise nice job so far.

Loathe,
Your Antagonist

Oh boy, am I mixed on this. For the most part, I like this, but I've got some really serious problems with it. Two in particular and while they do annoy me, it's not so much that I can bring myself to hate this story as of the first chapter. So in the interest of ending on a positive note, I'll get my complaints out of the way;

Both of my complaints come from the NMH side of this crossover and they have to do with some unnecessary changes to some pretty important lines from the game. The thing about No More Heroes is that every part of the game has a point (even the fact that you save by taking a shit), but the wording is extremely important. First, in No More Heroes, when Travis calls Death Metal's home "paradise", Death Metal's response to that is important for the ultimate theme of the game. He tells Travis "This is no 'paradise'". "What is it then?" Travis asks in return. "A place to die." This is really important, because this first level (and even more so the boss fight) is the point where the dichotomy between theme and story begin in the game. Travis and Death Metal aren't just talking about the mansion they're in, they're talking about the game itself. The actual world the game takes place in. To Travis, his world is one where violence has no meaning and killing is both a means to an end and the reward. It's totally self indulgent and insane, but that's the point. Think about how you would do in Santa Destroy. No, not you with a beam katana and glowing DBZ hair, the real you. Would that be paradise to you, or just a one way ticket to the grave? With the exception of the first level and the fight with Henry at the end, the story of No More Heroes is set as an illustration of the theme. This is what happens when you fall into a violent video game so deeply that you lose all touch with reality. When the real world becomes a place of violence without consequences and destructive self indulgence. Remember how I mentioned the method of saving was important? It exists to make Travis more than just a video game character. Travis eats, he shits, he pays his way with menial jobs. Travis doesn't belong in a hyperbolized video game world because he's a real person more than he is a character. And this drives right into my second problem with this; "Gotta find the exit" is the theme of the game! It's placement DURING the fight with Death Metal is absolutely vital! "Gotta find the exit" refers to finding a way out of the fantasy, a way out of the daydream that became all too real. Ever wonder why the game is called "No More Heroes"? It's not because there's nary a character with a pure motive. On the contrary, for all the crap Sylvia pulls, she's actually giving Travis a gift far more valuable than sex in setting up these fights. (Though to be fair, she's also doing it for Henry.) The reason the game is called No More Heroes is because there literally can't be any heroes in that world. Because to be a hero, you have to be strong and brave enough to be better than the violence and selfishness the world the game created runs on. That's also why the game ends the way it does. Travis and Henry found their way out (the end of the story) and thus became truly heroic and left the world behind (sequel notwithstanding). But in the first boss fight the story and the theme are still one and the same. That is to say, Travis knows he needs to find a way out of the fantasy, but he's also confronting the legitimate threat of death for the first time in his life as far as the story is concerned. He wants to back out because for all of his bluster, he's scared of dying (just like any other real person). The moment where he fears for his life is the moment that establishes his humanity and thus why he needs to "find the exit" from that world; he doesn't belong. Without these themes, No More Heroes just becomes some hipster romp through social satire that is openly insulting the people playing the game. Suda 51 isn't mocking you because YOU are Travis. No matter how far you fall, you'll always find the exit. You'll always be better than what is being mocked by the satire. At least, one would hope. Otherwise, you're Jeane.:pinkiesad2:

Now, after all that blabbing, I actually liked most of it!:pinkiehappy: Yeah, this is basically NMH with a new coat of paint, but other than the stuff I mentioned above, it's an enjoyably kooky coat of paint. One thing I love is Fluttershy taking the place of Sylvia. I never would have thought of that, but it really couldn't ever be any other way! Sure, Rarity seems like the obvious choice, but Fluttershy works so much better because you'd never expect her to do something like set up the UAA scheme because she's so easy to underestimate. And being that her character is built around kindness, it makes sense that she would be willing to go through all this trouble for Travis Dashdown here.:rainbowdetermined2: I guess because Rarity is the obvious Sylvia, the fact that it's Fluttershy instead just seems to fit better given how the game played out. And the altruism fits better with a Sylvia'd Fluttershy as opposed to a Sylvia'd Rarity. (That's not a shot at Rarity, but this isn't the Fluttershy or Rainbow Dash or etc. from the show.) And I feel like it would work better with the tonal shift that started immediately before the Letz Shake level. I don't know if I only think that because it'd be easier for me to write if I were doing it, or if it really does work better, but it's how I feel on the subject.:derpytongue2: I actually like that Death Metal was turned into insane toothbrush killer and it gave it the different flare this needed to give it it's own identity as a NMH crossover as opposed to just a straight novelization with MLP characters in the place of Travis and the others. Again, for all my deconstruction before, this does work much better than it has any right to and I look forward to seeing where it goes.
