I always imagined that on April Fools Day, Discord would do absolutely nothing just to screw with everyone, make them wonder what he's up to. Then when it's a minute to midnight, he creates a tsunami of, well, cheese I guess. Just cause. *shrugs*

The best Prank on April Fools would be Discord making all the laws of physics in Equestria actually follow the rules of our universe, and then he 'pretends' to be an absolute genius and makes logical discovers in math a science that wouldn't actually work in pony land, but since the universe finally started to make sense for the day it all fits perfectly. Twilight would go nuts when every experiment she makes to confirm Discord's discoveries , like the planet orbiting the sun for once, Discord's new laws of motion (Let's face it, the laws of motion don't apply to Equestria.), or the stars being giant fusion reactors like the sun, come up positive; completely contradictory to everything she knew about math, physics, magic, and logic. She concludes that the 'new' physics actually make perfect sense in regards to logic.
The next day everything goes back to normal, and the only one to remember the experience seems to be Twilight. The best thing about this prank is that Twilight now thinks the 'normal' laws of physics she has always known are actually wrong, even though new experiments after that day come up with them being right! Best prank ever...
