I enjoyed this. But the date did remind me of another fic I read, an Octascratch fic. I don't remember the title, author, or date published, I only remember how the date was ruined with missing dinner reservations and the gardens closed for work. Did you base the date in this off of that fic or the other way around, or is it just one big coincidence? Still enjoyed it regardless.

Yeah. I just remembered what it's called, Playing it by Ear. The date doesn't happen until one of the later chapters, and it all happens in Equestria with no humans, but the dates are quite similar. Also the fic is a good read, you should check it out if you like Octascratch.
