Rough Cut met Maud Pie during their studies in college. After a ‘rocky’ start, they became friends and have remained close ever since. While he enjoys her company, there has always been a small trait of hers that he enjoyed seeing: her smile. He knows that it is rare, but he wants to see it as well as be someone who can make her smile...and an opportunity arises during her next visit to Ponyville.

Always glad to see a Maud fic, as they're in short supply. I like this one so far, and will definitely be following it.
There's a small continuity error during the earlier part of the chapter. At one point you have it saying that he had finished his lunch early and that was why he had attempted to get to know Maud. Then later you have it say he's still eating his lunch.
Other than that, it's a pretty good story so far and i'll be curious to see how it progresses.
