As time goes on after Blueben moves in, mysterious devices start appearing and cause chaos in Equestria and move seemingly........ in pursuit of something. What is the mysterious creature? What are the devices after? Are they connected?

That will be explained later in the story. Probably pretty close to the end. Plus that very notion of having all the rings plays an important role in the plot.
