Invalided Royal Guard veteran Dr. Roan Trotson isn't exactly in the greatest of states when he returns to Canterlot with a brace on his back leg, quivery hooves, and memories to boot. To top it off, he simply can't afford to keep staying in Canterlot with a guard pension- yet he can't bring himself to leave. But no one would ever stand to room up with a broken, possibly mental colt, right?
Except, perhaps, an even more mental, messed up borderline psychopathic pegasus who knows your job by looking at hoofprint, fake murders other ponies in his 'mind palace' of all things, and decides that the best way to get to know his flatmate is to drag him along on an investigation of serial suicides.
At the very least, things won't get boring around here.
