Storybook had a perfectly normal foalhood. Now she is a librarian, and is ready to live a perfectly peaceful life. Maybe even a life with her foalhood friend, Blazefinder. But when mysteriously malicious ponies destroy the library and leave a daunting message for her, her normal life is turned upside down. She learns she isn't who she thought, and finding out who she really is turns out to be more dangerous than she planned.
The answers she never really wanted are hidden in faraway places and deep underground. With Blazefinder's help, maybe she'll get all the answers and be able to return to her normal life.

You definitely have me intrigued. I already like the characters and it seems like this is going to be one heck of an adventure. Also, I had to look up what "emeritus" means, but now that I know, it's brilliant. Good name choice!
Excellent. It's not perfect, but the characterizations and easy flow made this a good read.
One note, is Spike an asshole or something? Twilight tells him why she liked the Elements of Harmony book and he simply says, "Whatever." I was like damn! What a dick!

And Spike sometimes is a jerk, like most of the Winter Wrap Up episode, for example. I think overall it makes him feel younger that the rest of the characters.

5023958 Thank you! While I haven't actually written about them before, but I have spent a lot of time with Blaze and Story as characters. The story has changed five or six times since I started too. And For a very well-read pony there will be a lot Storybook doesn't know.

Very good chapter, although Story seemed to fall asleep pretty suddenly. Maybe drop some subtle hints like a yawn prior to her falling asleep. Aside from that, awesome job!

5061549 That is an incredibly excellent question. To use characters we are familiar with, Story sounds a lot like what would happen if you combined Fluttershy's and Rarity's voices. Quiet and gentle, but sort of sophisticated. It comes from growing up in Canterlot but basically living in a library.
Blaze is a baritone and the closest to what I hear in my head would be the Mamoru/Tuxedo mask in the new dub of Sailor Moon. Its on Hulu if you want to hear it.
