I'm a person. I like to read about ponies, and I would also like to try and write about ponies. That's all there is to it.

Pinkie Pie has invited AJ over to learn how to make apple pies. Applejack discovers that Pinkie's apples are of questionable origin, upon which drama ensues.

I loved this story! I wish I had something more meaningful to say, but I do not. Either way, cool story bro. Going into my favorites.

What started as something funny went into serious before going into humorous. The Mane 6 can be sorted in many different ways, but one particular one would be Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Twilght Sparkle from Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity. The former have talents that are best characterized by their race and thus defined by them: Rainbow Dash and her flight, Applejack and her farming and Twilight with her magic. Race has an importance to them in that aspect with talent with the possible exception of Twilight: her organization skills and job as a librarian allow her to contribute without her magic, as seen in Winter Wrap-Up. Contrary, we have Fluttershy, Pinkie and Rarity. All of their work could be done by any race and they do not fit in the regular mold with the exception of Rarity. Fluttershy's affliation with animals is probably ebtter than most earth ponies while Pinkie has her Pinke Sense.

To that end, it is surprsing to see Applejack like this although not implasubile (though probably in the beginning rather than now.) She implies that the other races aren't as good as hard work as they are. While Applejack is probably not like this, this characterization is interesting nonetheless. Also, liked how Rarity talks sense into her for once. She may a drama queen at times, but she is quite unflappable and iron-nerved in actual danger.

A pretty nice piece of work.

Thank you! Your comment is meaningful to me, and the fact that you took the time to write it is highly appreciated!

Yes, the characterization of AJ was something that worried me a bit. My idea is that her honest nature might have the side-effect of making her speak before thinking at times. I did not, however, want her to seem deliberately racist, just a bit ignorant and protective while under emotional distress.
In my opinion, Rarity is one of the most mature of the Mane 6, the drama queen aspect of her is probably a bit of an act on her part. She also of course has a long history of friendly conflict with AJ, and would not be afraid to speak her mind in a very straight-forward manner.

Yeah. I think one way she can grow as a character is to learn new things. As for Rarity, yeah it probably is. She does have a history with Applejack, but Applejack is probably Rarity's closest friend after Fluttershy. At the same time though, she is also immature at times, especially when it comes to love. She seems to be more in love with the idea of love itself or rather is romanticizing it. I guess it's another layer of complexity between her and Spike.

Thanks for responding and good luck on your future writing endeavors!

I felt Applejack gave up her point a little too quickly; she did have an arguement on magically modified fruit. At the same it would have been interesting to see Rarity--or even Twilight--give their view on the matter and watch the hubbub continue.

The high and low end of AJ's emotional outburst seemed a little extreme here. However everything else was great and I enjoyed Rarity's sudden dramatic appearance.

Yes, you do have a point. The story is a bit emotionally condensed. Perhaps it could have been a bit longer. Thanks for the feedback!

This may be a parody. But the sad thing is: Attitudes like Applejack's actuality exist. There are people who think that your race, determines what food you're allowed to make!
