This story is a sequel to Seasons Turning
Story 6 in the Savage Skies series.
Thanks to Twilight Sparkle's plan, Dawn Lightwing's story has been spread across Equestria. Back in Ponyville, Dawn and those close to him prepare for the inevitable fallout. However, their plan has some unexpected consequences, leading to Dawn's place in Ponyville coming under threat in the most unexpected of ways as Fluttershy must prove her fitness to be Dawn's mother.
However, there is something more at work behind the scenes. In order to protect his home and his place in Ponyville, Dawn must venture abroad with an unexpected and unwanted ally in order to bring an end to these machinations.
The series begins in Foal of the Forest.

I thought it was somewhat odd that you were sort of summing up the plot for the readers. It makes a bunch of sense, and the only reason i found it odd was because the other stories didn't. Awesome chapter, looking forward to seeing what happens

Guess that one is a bit of a sore spot. I can relate, since my father moved from New jersey where he lived in convenient walking distance from my mother to North Carolina where seeing him was basically impossible when I was nine and my mother's husband has been more a father to me in the meantime than he has in quite a while (though I cannot bring myself to call him father). To blazes with them Dawn, you have all the family you need in Ponyville.
On a lighter and somewhat random note, will Dawn be able to do something like this by the endgame?
I've been kind of getting into Naruto recently, so I was just curious.
There is little I enjoy more than a nice bottle of cola and a new story to read. This one in particular raises some interesting thoughts. I believe the best place to start is the beginning. These small bits of Dawn's past are well placed. They don't reveal too much and keep readers guessing, but it shows enough to satisfy the viewers and make them beg for more. If you're trying to set this up like an appetizer, you have succeeded. My compliments to the chef. I can also see the small path of light leading from the point of Dawn's old home to a particularly big wham moment. I patiently await the incoming bruises.
Sweetie Belle's internal conflict seems to be a good side plot. Since she's the last of the original CMC who doesn't have a cutie mark yet, a sizable piece of turmoil is naturally going to form. I'm unsure of where this one will lead, but it promises to be a good ride. This statement is made before considering that you're the one who built this crazy thing. You can leave a small detail behind you for us to follow, only to later reveal it as the tip of a lit fuse when we're right on top of the explosive. The earliest example I can find is Applejack's slight discomfort in the first book turning into a full-sized brawl.
I'm pretty sure this theory is just one of those off beat thoughts that passes through randomly, but I have to say it. Dawn's recollection of past events suggests that he's part of a high-class bloodline. It's important to keep in mind that he's not the only one. Is it possible that he and Perlin are somehow related? I'm not saying extremely close relations such as siblings, but perhaps a close cousin. As stated previously, I'm pretty sure this is that crazy voice in the darkest corner of my thoughts speaking, but he's been right before.
An excellent start to the next installment of a great series. This is shaping up to be worthy of the title of my favorite storyline on this site. You never fail to find a new way to impress me, Moguera. Now I have a good reason to get up in the morning besides our country's flawed educational system. A toast to a great writer and this masterpiece he's given us!

Honestly, I regard this as the best series on the site: This is from somebody with 500+ favorites. I like the pacing, it is very well-written, and honestly it just gets better with every sequel.

on a side note on an unrelated issue, does anyone remember a story arc series with applebloom becoming a mother, but she has to give her up.., also pinkie and sweetie bell were once part of the same pony , and the last arc escalated into a glorious battle against I think it was discord, and applebloom got a secret element of love or something like that. and in order to defeat the bad guy the main cast plus the cmc have to destroy these objects hidden within the body of the badguy..also in this story arc series the main 6 were warriors in celestias army from like along time ago, but celestia gave them an amnesia spell. please let me know if you remember this one I have tried desperately to remember it.

4381624 it is awesome I remember it was long but good, the author put in like music interludes of sorts intertwined within the chapters....via a youtube account , so when you read the story and came to a certain part he indicated where a certain music/ song should go . like my my only love from sailor moon. or the hes got the power from the transformers movie the cartoon one.
