Well... it was awesome to say the least. Although to short.
2,000 words... seriously? You can't make something like this epic with only 2,000 words!
This story is nice.
But there are a few grammatical and spelling(ular? 
) problems in the story, especially with dialogue. 
When somebody simply says a declarative sentence, here is how you end it: "Bla bla bla bla bla bla," said ExamplePony.
Exclamatory sentences end with an exclamation mark, as always. Interrogative sentences end with a question mark as always. There is no capital letter in after the dialoge in either of these. ("Bla bla bla!" exclaimed ExamplePony. "Bla Bla Bla?" asked ExamplePony)
But, it's a nice story overall. I like the plot. Good day to you sir!
It's a pet peeve of mine, I tend not to read stories when they can't even spell or use grammar in the description. I mean, this isn't bad, but:
"Leaded"
LED, MAN. LED. "Leaded" means "infused with lead". Yeah, the element.
