Mr.Sombra never thought that he'd get into a situation like this. After being transferred from Crystal Empire Academy to Canterlot High School, he figured his life would be the same, more or less.
Of course, when a pink haired student with the intention to make him feel welcome introduces herself, "same' is the furthest thing his life has become. Now he must fight his ever-growing feelings for her and contain his urge to act on them. And it was supposed to be over for him when she graduated that year.
But, what's he going to do when she drops in for a visit to bid him farewell?

Okay, now that I got that over with, it's time to input my thoughts! I just wanted to say, I love this story. And, I'm surprised there's dislikes, I guess it's just not some people's cup of tea. Anywho! I have to say this is something quite emotional and I can somewhat relate to this. Don't get me wrong, I never had a teacher tell me "I love you" in a romantic way. But, I knew there was a student that fell in love with a teacher in my school, and the teacher (after another year when hearing her confession) returned the feelings. They had a secret relationship for two years and wanted to take it to the next level after she graduated. But, they were caught in the act and the teacher had to resign from the school, go to jail for a while, and the girl was labeled as a "Slut". I never called her such things and she had her group of friends to support her, so she didn't need me to be there for her. But, what I heard is that he is still with her and she still loves him (this taking place after graduation). So, yeah, I can sort of relate to this story, maybe that's why it was touching for me. (Gah, so much life rambling...)
About the story itself...I love how Pinkie Pie knew him from the start and how he had taken a light interest in her (as a student). And, as time grew on, their feelings had blossomed. Sombra had fallen in love with a student, and that is difficult to comprehend if you are in that position, especially when it threatens your job. However, the most heart-wrenching part was the ending. Even when Pinkie is graduated, even when she has feelings for him, even when they are free to be together with no consequences, she denies him. She denies him because, in its own moral way, it's wrong. Instead of following her heart, she followed her logic, which is actually a good thing. The heart is known to betray, be a deceiver, and is best to follow logic since the outcomes are a lot better when following your brain.
I know the ending was sad, but I think it showed just how mature Pinkie Pie is and what the show itself doesn't let on. She knew that if she started to date him, it would complicate things. She is still young, she has a life ahead of her, a career to pursue (maybe), and possibly knew that she had to complete herself before adding additions to her life...such as love. I love to see a sequel to this, possibly Pinkie Pie and Sombra reuniting several years later and having closure of their last encounter. But, that's just my inner-fangirl wanting to see some happy ending.
Either way, this story deserves a lot of love! But, maybe that's because I'm pretty much becoming a huge Sombra/Pinkie Pie fan, possibly my newest MLP OTP.
