-What will happen at Volare's "funeral" on Earth, and what will they bury? (assuming that it hasn't happened it)—Hard to bury a body when there is no body to bury. SOP would be to list him as MIA until a sufficient incident investigation can be completed. Hard to pronounce a soldier as KIA without physical evidence (body, uniform, something)
-Did Volare have a crush on anyone back on Earth?—He was a little too obsessed with his job (for reasons as yet unrevealed) to worry much about that. In truth, his love was for flight and the joy that it gave him (he's a dork like that XD )
-Will Twilight get Rainbow Dash to collect some of Volare's old stuff and some anatomy books to turn him back to the human he used to be?—That’s unlikely. As stated, even if she got it CLOSE, he still wouldn’t be the same person. Scars from past accidents, reminders of his failures, a tweak in a limb causing a certain gait, a certain irregularity in his hairline…all those unique features combined (along with his experiences) made him who he was. Without all of those together…he wouldn’t be whole, and Twilight has already stated that wouldn’t be fair to do that to him
-Was Volare part of the fandom (listened to Tombstone, Mic the Microphone, etc), or did he just watch the show?—A little of both (he wasn’t HEAVILY into the fandom, as evidenced by his lack of intimate knowledge of background characters, but he was rather familiar with the main characters-especially Rainbow Dash). He did listen to brony music though.
-Will Volare show Vinyl more music?—Abso-frickin-lutely!
-Will Volare accidentally slip up and play brony music for Vinyl?—that’d be funny…maybe…
-Will this become another “Background Pony” type fic?—how so?
-Does he miss any of the technology he has at home?—What guy wouldn’t? However, that situation may be somewhat rectified soon.

1112995 Sorry you didn't like it too terribly much, but there IS a silver lining in that BOTH Dash and Twilight feel bad about their actions, which means their friendship can still be saved if only they'd apologize to one another. Unfortunately, Volare is caught in the middle of this and isn't exactly in the best position to help right now
Dash has a job to do and goes on her way, but you can tell she feels like crap about what she said...it's just gonna take some doing to get her to see reason (she's more of an "actions speak louder than words" type of person)
And you'll see what Twilight does because her own actions freaked herself out.
Trust me, friends quarrel all the time, sometimes badly like this, but the strength in friendship lies not in it's ability to exist when times are good, but to pull folks back together when times are bad.

This story is longer than any of the Harry Potter novels. Even the fifth which is 870 pages long.
I have a feeling that one of the ponies is Aggie. Maybe Scootaloo with Amnesia? I don't know I'm just guessing, oh and I meant typing up the story.

Even with all of his pictures and stuff? That seems unlikely. The inside of a human is (obviously) the same across everyone, so all that matters is the outside. However, if Twilight were to get a hold of his camera, some of his pictures from the army, and with Volare's help, she may be able to give him a temporary human body or at least an illusion/hologram of one.

I apologize, I'm not very up-to-date with military procedures, but due to the fact that there is (should be) evidence that he was in the plane in the crash, did not/could not eject, and did not emerge from the plane, that should be plenty of evidence for the military corps to deem him dead. That, and the fact that the plane (I think) blew up.

1117724 No shit. This story is roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the size of Fo:E (Fo:E being 600k + words and 2k+ pages), so this would be roughly 1k pages long (In book form). I honestly believe that the authors in the brony fandom are more skilled and more experienced than other professional writers like Rick Riordan and J. K. Rowling. Why? Because the following:
A. We do it in our spare time, not as a daily job.
B. It's 100% not-for-profit, and all we care about is sharing our works of art with the rest of the fandom for free, and just because we are nice.
C. We write way faster than professional authors. Kkat wrote the entirety of Fo:E in (what I hear) 4-6 months, and Fo:E is basically the same size and length of the first 5-6 books of the Harry Potter series. However, it took years to write all that, not months. And Fo:E already has it's own book series. Granted, it's pretty pricey, but it is still purely not-for-profit, and if there is any money left over, it goes to charities and those who own copyrights to Fallout and MLP.

After all, it's not like carnivores don't exist anywhere, and horses CAN eat meat. It just makes you get a little indigestion. Technically, we can't eat celery, because we don't have the chemicals to digest it. That's why it uses up more calories eating it than you'll gain from consuming it. I wasn't implicitly referring to Xenophilia, you know. Bellerophon was the guy who rode the Pegasus in Greek mythology. The author of that story used it as a cheeky way of referring to the main character's role in the story.
Just the same thing as I've done to Volare here, I'm afraid.
I suppose ponies eating any type of meat at all is akin to a human that eats dog meat and horse meat. You can eat them, and they are a viable source of meat, but the role of said animals as pets and companions, as well as their intelligence, makes it incredibly taboo, and highly questionable in ethics. Which means Griffon-friendly joints will probably be socially considered on the same level as something like a strip club. You don't wanna be seen walking into one.
And to bring up another point, what about dogs, cats, bears, and predatory birds? Fluttershy takes care of a lot of carnivore animals. She might feed them mostly vegitarian stuff, but she at least understands that quite a lot of them would normally need meat in the wild.

Most of Fluttershy's carnivorous animals eat fish. Birds, bears, etc. Besides, ponies in themselves are not carnivorous, so Volare as a pony might not have the proper digestive system.

Yep. Ponies can't digest most parts of meat, so it wouldn't really be beneficial to his health. However, studies have shown that horses can eat it and process some nutrients from it, so it's not out of the question.

Their relationship is fine. The only reason Twilight told Dash to stay away from Volare is because Dash caused both of Volare's previous accidents, and Twilight wants Volare to be safe, at least until he gets well and is able to fly well.

Who said their planet was round? I fully understood the notion of planet rotation affecting the clouds and stuff, but mostly everything else (larger lung capacity) was either biology or history. Or Philosophy. I love philosophy. I thought there would have a bunch of Volare explaining the mechanics of flight to Rainbow Dash, telling her that flying isn't just flapping your wings and improvising.
