The second part is Twilight Sparkle writing to Princess Celestia, she did not send the letter to her, she mentally did. She wrote it out, hoping that Celestia, who had died, would hear it from heaven.

But probably not your fault. I just can't imagine that anyone could decide to "not feel anything". The inability to feel emotion is a very serious and ultimately rare mental illness. And if Twiliight would have it, she wouldn't decide. She just wouldn't feel anything from the moment she was born. She wouldn't even be able to grasp the concept of emotions.
Maybe it's me, and I just don't like illogical or unbeliveable stories. I complain if it isn't conclusive in itself.

And, I've kind of trained myself to not to be excited in situations due to people making fun of me for being over enthusiastic and fear of people looking at me weird. I really wrote this story just for that reason.
