i just think if there are towns then that mean more cowboys and pioneers are gong to explore around and met ponies of all kinds and this guy sound like he dealt with all kind of sentients other then ponies both good and bad and this town doesn't freak him out so he been to a lot of place's so that mean they been there longer in the desert living with other thing in a semi peace before ponies start up there one little town so far and it is pioneer country maby they met different buffalo tribe's and other things and humans came to an understanding as well as what living there is a rule "try to kill or hurt humans for whatever reason and you can expect they will retaliate to defend and answer the violence's with violence's and miss trust for a really good reason nature cruel like that after all."

You're right to suspect that! It does seem that Human here is quite used to all this. Maybe he's been wandering from town to town for quite sometime? He is a bit on the older side.

well there still a new town so what if it turn out to be diamond dogs or some other critter i notice crime investigation is not that great in there time right now never mind ponies think most non ponies species are not smart enough often put a label and judge they think he a brute without proof i mean look at how zeacora was treated by ponies at first! most are probably blame the cowboy and believe the unicorn innocent more cause it a pony right? i notice there a little sentient racist to non ponies at time's. so trouble with the justice system there....

It's hard to believe just how catastrophic a bit of suspicion regarding foreigners can really go, whether it be simple distrust or blatant racism.
3271531 i think if humans are there in the magic lands they would have to work together as a whole just to survive the place. with so many sentients and danger's add magic and i don't think humanity of that world could afford to be to raciest and suspicious to there own kind all the time to much to worry about so i guess they learn toleration and working together is a necessity weather some like it or not.
i mean with all that can kill out there i don't think skin or origin gonna matter to much maby semi hate tolerate at best for certain culture and cautiousness to certain people individuals. changelings and other shape shifters and bad magic would add to being careful of who friend and foe... yikes!
It's a pretty good story/concept. My only suggestion is to add a bit more emotion and detail, delve into your characters' personalities a tad more. Keep writing!
