Doctor, what's a regeneration?

"Derpy, what did you do?!" yelled the Doctor as they ran through a forest. The forest was dark and the only light that was there was from the sonic screwdriver which Derpy held in her mouth.
"All I did was fly" muttered Derpy as she flew down besides the Doctor, "Can you hold this?" She passed the sonic to him.
"Derpy, they're saying you broke there capital building." said the Doctor as he to slow to a stop at the TARDIS, "I'm starting to wonder if I should drop you off at your home."
"Oh please Doc, I don't want to." pleaded Derpy as the Doctor opened the doors to the TARDIS.
"Now Derpy," said the Doctor turned around. He paused and saw what had been chasing them. "Inside the TARDIS, NOW!" shouted the Doctor as ran inside.
Derpy turned and saw what it was an froze in horror at the creature. "Doctor, what is that?" stammered Derpy as the, now visable, creature appered.
"Animus. An old friend of mine." said the Doctor as he came out of the TARDIS with a cane with a question mark on the end of it.

"Well, hello Doctor. You look different, then again, you never stay the same." said Animus as he walked around the TARDIS, "But your time machine hasn't changed since we met back then."
"Listen, Animus, we can work this out. No need to fight." stated the Doctor as he slowly pushed Derpy into the TARDIS.
"Oh, Doctor. Why do you run? Are you Afraid?" mocked Animus. "Are you afraid of death? You know you can't out run death."
"I've done it time and time again." said the Doctor as he walked into the Tardis.
"I don't think that regenerating will help you this time Doctor." said Animus as he pointed to a light off in the distance, "This time Doctor, we're friends, but next time, I won't help you. You have a giant role to play in the future."
"Wait, tell me, what role do I play?" yelled the Doctor as Animus disappeared into the forest.

"Are you okay Doctor?" asked Derpy as the Doctor walked into the Tardis.
"I'm fine. I'm just confused." said the Doctor as he started up the Tardis.
"What is regenerating?" asked Derpy as she sat on a chair.
"Umm...where did you hear that?" stuttered the Doctor as he turned around.
"From you and that walking sushi bar." said Derpy as she spun around in the chair.
"Well, regeneration is a timelord's way of cheating death." said the Doctor as he sat down.
"I knew that, but what happens?" asked Derpy as she fell out of the chair.
"Well. It when all the cells in my body save me but die in the process, when this happens, I change my appearance. And..umm."
"Can you make it simplier?" asked Derpy as she sat up.

"Umm. okay. Imagine my body as a sunny day, and when I get hurt, it turns into a stormy night. My cells are the weather ponies who change me back to a sunny day, but when doing this, I change in appearance." said the Doctor as he helped Derpy up.
"Oh, the when will you become a sunny day again?" asked Derpy as she pointed to a red mark on the doctor's hoof.
"What is this?" asked the Doctor as he looked at it. "When did I step in acid?"
"doctor, you're glowing." said Derpy as golden lights left the Doctor.
"No.no.NO! NO!" yelled the Doctor as the light grew brighter, "Derpy, When I come back answer these two questions: Am I ginger and what type of pony I am."
"Okay" said Derpy as he busted into golden light. The light seemed to shoot out of him. One of the pillar of golden light leaving him, hit the Tardis and a blue light consumed the room. Than the room returned to normal.

"Doctor?" asked Derpy as she walked over to where the Doctor was. In his place was a pony with black hair with a blue streak in it. This pony had the same color coat as her Doctor, but something was different.
"Oh my head." said the Doctor as he rubbed his head. "I have long hair again...never going to get use to that. "said the Doctor with a hint of surprise. "Hi Derpy."
"Do I know you?" asked Derpy as she walked around the, now befuddled, Doctor.
"Derpy, I'm the Doctor."
"No, the Doctor was a stallion. You're a mare." said Derpy as she pointed to a mirror.
"What?" said the Doctor ran to the mirror. "What!? I have a long mane? And a slinder body? And are these Eyelashes?! Derpy, what is this?" Asked the doctor as he lifted hi, err, her tail.
"That's your tail, and it looks pretty." said Derpy as she walked to the Doctor.
"I'm a girl!?" said the Doctor as she paced back and forth.

"Well, you really pretty." said Derpy as she walked to the Doctor.
"But I'm a guy. I'm a Time Lord." said the Doctor as she went to the Tardis' controls.
"But you're a Time Lady now." said Derpy as she walked beside her.
"But I'm a man!" yelled the Doctor as she stomped to the door," Well, let's see where we are."

"The sky is blue, the grass is green, normal planet." said the Doctor as she walked out of the TARDIS. As Derpy walked out, the Tardis slammed her doors.
"Umm, Doctor, we're locked out." stated Derpy as she tried to open the door.
"She's probably updating herself." Said the Doctor as she turned around, "Why is there....a...wall."
"Doctor, what's wrong?" asked Derpy as she went to her.
"First day here." said the Doctor as she pointed to another TARDIS flying away.

"Get back here, you TIME LORD!" yelled Celestia as she went after the, now disappeared and past, TARDIS.
"Oh she'll hate me now." said the Doctor as Celestia flew to them.
"So, he took you two too. Let me at him." said Celestia as she dashed to the TARDIS.
"Looking for who?" asked Derpy as she walked to Celestia.
"Exactly!" said Celestia as she pounded on the doors of the TARDIS.
"You mean the Doctor?" she asked as Celestia backed from the doors.
"Yes, and when I get him,"
"He's here." interrupted Derpy as she pointed to the Doctor.
Celestia stopped and stared at Derpy, Derpy, the Doctor is a stallion, that's a mare."
"Actually, she's right. I'm the Doctor." said the Doctor as she walked up to Celestia.

"So, He regenerated and he is now a she?" questioned Celestia as they walked down a garden path.
"Yes, why is it so hard for people to understand that?" asked the Doctor as they passed some guards.
"Who's the little lady?" whispered one of the guards as the Doctor walked by.
"I'm a man, not a lady. And even if I was a girl, aren't you suppose to be on guard?" barked the Doctor as she walked to the guards.
"You're crazy lady." said the guard as he went back to his post.
"I'M A MAN!" yelled the Doctor as she got pulled away by Derpy and Celestia.
