An unusual combination, to be sure, but this could be interesting, too early to tell, however.

I am interested in whether this will take place before or after the apocalypse. Also if he still has his alien-tier weapon and what armor he's using... and if he'll be the only human or resident of his universe at that.

If it's before, it could massively change the timeline, if after, not too much. I do look forward to the human's first sighting of a Canterlot ghoul... or a tainted Diamond Dog, for that matter.

His armor has already survived and hold him together from the extream gravitation of a wormhole, a fall from above the clouds, with a hole in the armor, when it easily gets dented by alien plasma.
If he had ended up in the wasteland, that is one thing, but pre-great war?

If you can't find the motivation, it may be better to stop. That is what I did. I don't have the knowhow. *Sigh* As for your rewrite, it is needed if people cring on reading the first chapter... and I think the prologue and chaper one may fit better combined then seperated.
