A fair few people have been asking when I'll get around to continuing The Evil Paradox.
Short answer is, I will.
The long answer? The last couple years haven't exactly been kind to me for a variety of reasons that I don't really want to get into, but what I will say is that it has a lot to do with finances and mental health.
200 hours in two and a half months of one of my favourite games of all time, sorry-not sorry I haven't written a single damned word of anything lately I've just been having way too much fun for what feels like the first time in years that isn't the toxic fucking cesspool that is Overwatch.
This chapter of TEP has just been one headache after another.
Imagine trying to complete a 5000 piece black and white gradient puzzle and having it take two years to do.
I don't know how much of a shit-show this chapter actually is until I get it sent off to be edited.
OK, some long overdue explanations are necessary.
First off, how 'bout that Rona, eh?
For those of you who don't know, I live in New Zealand. We basically beat COVID-19, minus two cases of people coming into the country. Honestly, we got lucky that the Prime Minister took the initiative in the lockdown procedures or we would likely be a lot worse off. The country is almost back to working order, and having been back at work the last few weeks is a godsend.
Chapter 22, the most recent, was chopped up from leftover information from ch21, which lead there to be a repeat of a couple scenes that exist on both chapters. I've done and fixed it, hopefully at least. If there's any double-ups in information in either chapter, point it out and I'll remedy it whenever I've got the spare time.
Don't worry, it's a good thing this time, I promise.
Greenback, my faithful and stellar editor for the last couple years, mentioned that, the further we get into the revisions, there's less and less that actually needs fixing/changing.
Chapter 5 has been re-uploaded, so if Greenback and I feel as though no more revisions are necessary after the sixth, I can get right back into writing more of the story!
I think I mentioned this in my last blog post about revising the story. Not to worry, though, they're only small and will not require you to re-read the story.
Everything will be low-key, such as streamlining some scenes, tweaking details here and there, and just otherwise making the foreshadowing more relevant to what I've got planned.
tl;dr, I went and bought a cheap as chips laptop from my local pawn shop.
The ting is as old and slower than a playground full of special kids, but the idea is to finally make some headway with some long overdue writing. How long has it been, you ask?
Nine months. Nine freaking months since I've so much as opened my Gdrive folder. It is in much need of some dusting off.

Still haven't organized a new computer due to my sheer laziness as per the blog title, though I do plan on finally sorting one out when the savings account has more than virtual dust in it.
I have every intention of continuing horsewords for as long as reasonably possible, so don't you worry your pretty little heads.
It's been a goal of mine to be interviewed on a podcast like so many other well known authors on this site, and now it's finally happening! B_25 invited me and various others as part of a 24 hour stream where 24 people will be interviewed by 24 hosts!

Between the numerous updates of Overwatch's Retribution and season 10 placements, and Fortnite's season 4, I finally managed to get my ass in gear and finish the next arc for TEP.
The outline for the arc is sitting at about 4k words, as opposed to the outline for the first arc which was about 9k+. Hopefully this arc will be about half as long as the current arc, so between 30-40k words.

Last month I moved house, and in that time, my internet still hasn't been activated. I haven't been able to get into my google drive folder to work on either of my stories, so there's been no progress made on Evil Paradox or Friendship Lesson 2.
I'm sitting outside a Pizza Hut using their free WiFi to post this blog for to let you guys know whats been going on if any of you have been wondering why I haven't posted any updates.
So, here's where things are at, at the moment. The ninth chapter of Evil Paradox is halfway being proofread, though still requires a bit of work before it's ready. A couple things need to be rearranged for flow, but the tricky part is figuring out where those things should fit. That should be finished within the next week.
Hey guys, it's 2:15am and I've just finished writing the final draft of Chapter 9 for The Evil Paradox! Due to real world obligations, the proofreader likely won't be able to sit down until the beginning of November at the very least, but I have a contingency plan in the meantime!
