On the up and up, w/ TEP Updates · 12:16pm Feb 16th, 2019
Alright my horsey homies (homie is Kiwi slang for a collective group of friends), I think it's time to make the second blog post this year!
First off, I will start off with the story side of things, so you have the option to continue reading the rest of the blog. Chapter 21 has been completed, and there's not too much more that needs to be done. Since the chapter has so much going on in it, Greenback, whom I've also been editing for and who's proofreading TEP, suggested it needs to be split into two different chapters. I'll hopefully have the first of these two chapters finished within the next three days (keep an eye out on the update progress in the description), and the second to you ideally by the end of next week.
Now, I don't normally make these kinds of personal blogs, and I'm sorry for how heavy handed this might seem, I just want to explain why there hasn't been an update in over eight frickin' weeks. These last few months have been particularly difficult for a few reasons. My Grandad (my mum's dad) passed away March 2018 after an amazing 65 years of marriage to my Nana, so me and my whole family are still coping with that, as well as helping her move into her new house from the one on the country farmside she's been living at for the last thirty years. We've all needed to support one another on this by helping out where we can in these few months gone. It's a house that we're all sad to leave behind especially when it's one that has so many memories embedded in it. If walls could take, the stories they'd tell. Packing up things that have been part of your life for decades and putting them in another house just feels.... strange. Like nothing belongs.
BUT, the future is looking bright, and I've been able to finally crawl out from under this weight of depression, and finally have something to be genuinely happy about in a long time. This coming Monday, I've got a new Job working in a 4.5 star hotel called the James Gook Grand Chancellor (Go and check it out!). It's a huge step up from working in beachside cafe's as I've done in the past, and it offers more opportunities to move up and into various departments within the fancy hotel. With the skills I make at this job, I'm one step closer to my dream of opening up my own restaurant. Hospitality and cooking has played a huge part in my FimFic writing life, too. Finding the components to create something for other people, to take time the time and effort to research and write the best story I can, to the cook the best meal I can, Whatever it is, i love the satisfying moment whenever someone tells me I've created something they really enjoy.
Being in a better place also means that I can put more focus on writing stories for you guys, so I hope you're excited for what I've got in store for you!
I just want to tell anyone that's ever read my stories, put up with my bullshit through thick and thin, as well as the friends I've made, the people I've edited and proofread for, Thank you! Thank you for all your support, it really does mean a lot!
