Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 6 · 1:05pm May 17th

You've probably heard the song Loser before (and I know at least you have, Vertigo22) but this song is much different, even though it's by the same guy.

How does he do it, you may ask?

I don't know, Beck is just great at doing a wide variety of genres.

Blue Moon by Beck Hansen (But he just goes by Beck.) From the winner of the Grammy for Album of the year for 2014, Morning Phase.

Because it's fun.

(However, I have seen others do weird things before, so I thought I'd just take it to the next level.)

Yeah, that title was clickbait.

Any suggestions for edits? I'm wide open.

Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 13 · 12:23pm May 24th

Oh boy am I excited to share this one.
So, to have heard of this band before, you basically have to be part of one of these three specific groups:

  1. An Australian fan of indie rock in the 90's.
  2. A fan (or former fan) of the gosh immensely popular show "Bluey".
  3. Someone who's literally already checked them out via my music recommendation master list.:facehoof:

The Beatles.
A band who literally needs no introduction whatsoever.
I used to be one of those folks who disliked them simply because of their massive popularity.
What an outrageous fool I was.:facehoof:

Swamp rock. Seems like a weird name for a genre, but if you've heard of it at all, pretty much only one band really comes to mind.

(And even if you haven't heard of "swamp rock" you've surely heard a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival before.)

All hail Nightmare Moon.

Bad Moon Rising by CCR, from the 1969 album Green River.

I like a lot of music, and MLP: FiM (fan works, specifically) actually got me started on getting more interested in it, as well as directly introducing me to some of these bands.

If you are interested, here's some artists you should check out (if you're not already familiar with them.)

Just a disclaimer: I'm pretty sure the song's not even supposed to be offensive.

The band with the best-selling album of all time in the US, and the second best-selling album of all time in the entire world is the Eagles.

While not my favorite band by any means, you can tell by listening to the album in question, Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975), that the reason they sold so many copies is pretty obvious.

Hey there, friends and followers of mine, as well as you randos who just clicked on this page. Yes, I see you there, and I don't mind.

Heck, I made this blog post so that people can get to know me more, so you're in the right place. (It gets more interesting after my random things that I like, but I'd still like you to read those, please.)

And RainbowDash2012 says to tell you that I, Tape Deck, am AWESOME. Fine by me.

<sigh> What can I say but the truth?

They're pretty amazing. Of course I could put Smoke on the Water here, but that's not my favorite song from the only album I have of theirs, Machine Head. (Released in 1972.)

Beat Box (Diversion 1) by The Art Of Noise, from the 1984 album Who's Afraid of the Art of Noise.

It basically sounds like a remix from the 80s, but it's more of an original song not based on anything in particular, and it's also very weird.

But a good weird.

I hope by next Thursday you'll have understood completely why this is necessary.

ELO Week 3/9 (Mixtape 20) · 12:27pm Yesterday

Ah, yes we come to what I deem to be my "favorite" (hard air quotes there) ELO song.

I mean, there's probably others I like just as much (and I truly enjoy all of their songs) but there's just something special about this one.
It also helps that this song reminds me greatly of Past Sins, but that's a story for another day.
