Jack Johnson's a pretty good soft rock/acoustic pop/whatever musician, and he also did the excellent soundtrack to the 2006 animated film Curious George.

Beat Box (Diversion 1) by The Art Of Noise, from the 1984 album Who's Afraid of the Art of Noise.
It basically sounds like a remix from the 80s, but it's more of an original song not based on anything in particular, and it's also very weird.
But a good weird.
