One critical thing I haven’t made clear enough: the only reason I managed to go to EFNW was because of EbonQuil’s generosity. I won’t go into specifics, but I can say with confidence that I would not have been able to enjoy this amazing time if it hadn’t been for him.
Also, I forgot to post a key moment of Thursday night’s activities: us watching Corejo play “The ComCast Game,” AKA No internet Game on Chrome last year!
Sunday started much the same as the other days. Try to get up at 7:15, fail and get up a little while after. This time though, we had a nice big group heading over to Dave’s for our last breakfast there.
First of all, hello to a bunch of new people! Many of you I met recently at EFNW. And because EFNW was so flipping huge, well… normally these are long rambling rambles of rambly rambabble.
But considering how I just did a 23,000-word followup to Everfree Northwest 2018 and I’ve gotten 6 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours… this one’s gonna be a short one.

[Found this sticky note at my departure gate at SeaTac, leaving EFNW. I do not believe in coincidences. 😌]
Dear Readers (including and especially all those enjoying the Autumn and the Autumn):
Hey everyone! 👋
Well, damn. This is a long one.
So it turns out I made it to Everfree Northwest 2023 after all -- well, most of it. I did have to miss a big chunk of Saturday, unfortunately, and some of Friday evening. But I got to see almost all the panels I was most excited for, got to do the big activities that I was itching to do, and got to meet (or reunite) with so many members of our lovely fanfic community!
It is only one more week until Everfree Northwest!
I've never actually been to a con before, but Xepher and Thornwing were kind enough to invite me as a community guest. I'm going to be on several panels, including:
Hello everyone. Like I mentioned in my previous blog post, I wanted to kind of go over the different iterations Sky Blue Bro went through. It actually went through an awful lot of changes from inception to publishing, and a lot of ideas were scrapped, changed, and tweaked for various reasons, ranging from trying to keep under the word count (on GDocs Sky Blue Bro got to 6000 words exactly, whereas on FimFiction it went about a hundred and fifty words over, as bloody usual), but also to convey
Howdy folks! Well, I had a fun weekend. I ended up driving Thursday afternoon (managing to get to Portland at 3pm, just in time for the traffic to go to hell) and drove back Sunday evening (managing to hit a section of I-5 where they closed all but one lane at 10 PM, creating a huge traffic jam in the middle of nowhere), and had a total blast the whole time in-between.
I had a totes awesome time at EFNW~! I loved it all! Even met with a few RL friends there and had a blast. Maybe got a bit too drunk at one point, but I still remember most of it (seriously, pony-themed drinks are epic. Especially ones named after bad guys~! They just get you totes wasted super fast!).
So the news dropped today that a bunch of the folks who did the BronyCon Bookstore in 2019 are revving up for another go. This time, the location is Everfree Northwest in Bellevue, Washington, on August 11-13, with the book shop now being called Twilight's Book Nook.
I hung out with a bunch of people since I got into Seattle on Thursday. A partial, horribly incomplete list would include:
Xepher (rooming with him, cool dude as always, fair bit of presence IRL. Good at running panels, very efficient and good at sparking/spurring conversation)
Winston (Cool dude as always; a bit quiet, but nice to hang out with and chat with. He’s on the staff, so secretly rules over us all, like Xepher)
Mudpony (I’ll read that story, I swear!)
As noted a week ago, and in my blog post a few days ago, I am totally at Everfree Northwest. It doesn't start until tomorrow, but I hung out with a bunch of writer folks tonight. Everyone was someone I met for the first time tonight, but so far, I've met:
Morning Sun
Xepher
Ruirik
LoyalLiar
Wilson
Web of Hope
Two people whose names I am blanking on right now for some reason
Red Spiral (briefly)
Heartshine
Heading west out of Seattle is kinda complicated . . . just like getting from Michigan to Chicago, there’s a lake in the way and you have to go south first. Plus, a lot of trains is a lot of opportunities, but not necessarily a lot of speed.
We have another entry to the Not-A-Contest! Sock Puppet's back with a sequel to Scootaloo, Formula One Driver:
Before I begin, I need to say that I totally forgot that I hung out with Winston at the con, too, and completely forgot to mention him in the last blog post.
Hey guys! As a lot of you know, Everfree Northwest is happening this weekend, and the amazing RBDash47 is hosting a book vendor stall called Twilight's Book Nook at the convention. While I am not able to attend the convention by virtue of living on the exact opposite side of the country from Seattle, I was able to send a few copies
