You may have noticed that my production has slowed down to a crawl again. Unfortunately, I've kind of had a hell of a month lately. In addition to getting stuck on the two remaining scenes in Chapter Seven, my job situation, which has always been somewhat up in the air, took a turn for the worse recently. The less said about it the better.
He walked in a large room, with a small empty chair. He looked at the chair, wondering why it was empty. He walked over to the chair. “Hello? Who’s there— ack!”
He felt someone’s hoof wrap around his neck. He looked up to see a Royal Guard standing behind him. “You.”
Blue tried to break the stranglehold, but to no avail. The guards grip was too strong.
“What are you here for, you buggy bucker?”
“Hive… Hunter…” Blue managed to gasp.
Sorry, I got nothing life- or story update-wise to share. I just want to say this right here and now while there's still time:

In the Second Pony-Changeling War, a changeling named Brokenwing;
Overseas to the battle he went, in the name of the Queen
Into war he brought two things along, his brother and his faith
Joined the ranks as a Captain, assigned to the 2nd Devil Horn platoon.
It was there on that day
That Brokenwing would enter the fray
Saving the day
Blue watched as Dagger held a sign. “Are you still advocating for no more Dagger abuse?”
Dagger smiled. “Nope! Now I’m advocating for no more couch abuse.”
“...But you’re sitting on a couch.”
Dagger looked down. “Oh...”
Blue facehoofed. “Dagger... Sometimes... You’re special in your own way...”
“Whatever...”
In Frontlines, I portrayed changelings as Russian, utilizing Russian WW2 weapons like the Mauser C96 or the Mosin-Nagant and speaking said language. However, in Blue Fang they’re portrayed as American with their army being named Devil Horns, which is similar to the American Marines, the Devil Dogs and their battle cry being “Hura!” which is similar to the American Army’s “Hooah!” or the Marines “Oorah!”
Just something I realized, you can go on with your day now.
The Fangs had gone rope jumping in celebration of Blue and Ky finally mating. Kydra was... less enthusiastic. She stood over the cliff, her harness strapped on. Blue held her.
“Don’t push me Bluey!” she said.
“Don’t worry, I won’t...”he nuzzled her. “You trust me, right?”
It’s…actually pretty fun! Doesn’t really re-invent the wheel or anything, the superhero side of the story is fairly standard-ish, but its real strength is in the dynamic between Jaime and the rest of the Reyes family. Only quibbles with story are minor “could’ve expanded a bit more on this” type stuff, but overall it’s a pretty solid 7/10. Nice to have a DC movie that *doesn’t* suck for a change.
So, the first scene of Chapter Seven of GL:A is now in the books, though it ended up expanding into a second full scene in its own right. Given the current size of the chapter, I think I'm going to split it up into at least two parts (maybe three), if for no other reason than to give you all something to read sometime before Christmas.
Once I finish the scene with the medical exam, I'll publish the first part of Chapter Seven.
First off, the final scene of the next chapter of Greater Lights: Adaptation is nearly complete. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean that I'll be posting in the immediate future, since I still have one connecting scene to write. But it does mean that I'm that much closer to being ready to do so. I'm hoping I can get this done in the next week or so.
(There I go again, making promises I may not be able to keep. )
Unfortunately, due to some unforseen events, including an overly-complex English project, a hyperunrealstic Economics project, and some problems with the conclusion, you are not getting Canto X this week. Consequently, I am placing The Blue Rose on hiatus until these matters are resolved.
While cleaning my room from the old stuff, I ended up finding a Polish-German dictionary eleven guitar picks total, some of them in pretty random places. Those aren’t all the picks I ever owned, so I guess the rest is either lost forever, or they’re plotting to take over the world. Anyway, here’s the eleven I found:
From the top:
Blue Fang’s journey has come to an end. You have three options, and three endings...
Which will you get?
Blue Roses
I fall, so blended, into a sea of dreams
The levitation, it seems, so imaginary to me.
I fly with memories of you and me
No one compares to memories.
I try so hard to change my world.
But I see you there
And I can't change it's worth.
I fall into a flood of broken love.
Is this my fight?
If this where I want to be?
When I think of my selfishness, my wrongs,
Is this where you're meant to be?
You are my blue rose
You are the sparkle in my eye
