Ghost on Worldbuilding 2—The Teleology of Technology -or- Revolvers in Equestria, Yay or Neigh? · 4:47pm Jul 13th, 2015

Hello my readers... uh. Um. Damn. Plum ran out of adjectives.

Mm...ah!

Hello my readers augusti et augustae!

Well. It'll have to do. For now.

(Warning: Long post is loooooong. If you just want the Equestria bit without me ranting about... oooh, all manner of thing, just read sections I, V, and VI.)

I—Colt Revolvers?

We Are Such Stuff...: Questions of Chronology · 5:05am Apr 9th, 2018

So, I have set my character on a quest, and will head him toward the city.

I have been considering some details: I have settled on an approximate date of 350 AE for the start of this story. This raises the question of the general level of technology in the Northeast U.S. at the time. The farm described is pretty much pre-Industrial Revolution, or at least the beginning of it. As an outlying rural area, that seems appropriate: but what of the city?

On Princess Celestia as an Antagonist · 5:00am Jul 7th, 2015

First of all, if you follow "The Iron Horse" and haven't read up through the end of "Giggle at the Ghost in the Machine, Part 4," then you might want to wait before reading this. If you have, then carry on.

So, down to business! Let's talk about our favorite giant-ass sunny horse demi-goddess, Princess Celestia, and the role she's played in the story so far.

The Cownestoga Wagon · 2:22am Mar 7th, 2016

A heavy all-terrain covered wagon, capable of carrying some 6 tons of cargo and passengers when pulled by a full team of four or more Earth Ponies, and generally requiring at least two to properly manage its considerable bulk, the Cownestoga Wagon was invented around YOH 1300-1340, and played an important role in the internal expansion of Equestria, particularly in the late 14th to early 15th centuries.

"Stolen Technology" revoked. · 2:22pm May 18th, 2016

Sooo... I received a quick review I asked from a member, and a lot was said!

This means, Stolen Technology is receiving a massive change in dialogues, because the fact how I was taught in Portugal don't correspond with the english way.

Not to mention other details, and every chapter is gonna receive a close look after the lesson I took.

So, if you are interested, leave a comment and I'll let you know the details.

Peace!

The Indistinguishability of Magic and Technology · 10:28pm Apr 26th, 2014

According to Arthur C Clarke's excessively quoted words of wisdom: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. [1]

It's a nice line. Cute, concise, and sufficiently unscientifically defined that it can be either true or false depending on how you choose to interpret it.

Hello to my current followers and whoever might stumble in this entry.

Needless to say, I'm back.
And I recall one time I wrote in some chapter in Stolen Technology that I was losing the enthusiasm but I would keep going. :fluttershysad:

I take It AAAALL back! The flow is back and full force, constantly writing new chapters for the biggest story I've written so far. :pinkiecrazy:

Thanks, Google · 12:07am Aug 1st, 2017

The latest updates that you have made to your phone software make it really less user-friendly. Sort of like the constant YouTube updates which make it harder and harder to use. My own new phone has no headphone jack. I guess 2017 means that you’re a caveman if you like the older, corded headphones still. Bluetooth doesn’t sound as good and is a pain in the ass to hook up? Hah, Google says.

Story Recommendation: "Good Changes, Mostly" · 8:23pm Mar 11th, 2020

Much of my work - like The Iron Horse or the recent "Spirit of Radio" - deals with the impact of technology on society. A very recent story here on the site takes this theme and creates a beautiful tale of change and hope as well as of loss and nostalgia. It's quite short and very readable, so I highly recommend this tale

Update #4: Why I’m behind · 1:06am Dec 7th, 2018

So it’s pass the date that I said I would have the next chapters out and... nothing. Why? A simple reason. My computer malfunctioned and thus is gone; meaning all my work is lost and I’m on the bench until I somehow get enough money to get a new computer to start over. I’m also looking into just posting off my phone (like I am now), but that requires time (which is mostly into getting food and learning) and a wifi that doesn’t flicker on and off so I’m using up my data (fixed that today with a

Issues with Matter that Matter about Matter · 12:05am March 9th

Time for me to make another tech rant...

There's a new IoT technology out there, called Matter. You may have heard about it.
It promised to make all your smart tech work together and not need the cloud or all these hubs.

Then it launched. Everyone still seems to ask you to use their own app anyway, you still need hubs in your home, it still uses the cloud, and you might be wondering what happened.

Spoke too soon · 10:44pm Jul 2nd, 2016

Apparently, I spoke far too soon. I left my new computer on last night to update itself to Windows 10, and this morning when I woke up, it was no longer functional. The case lights will come on, but none of the fans will, the motherboard lights indicate no errors, but nothing happens, and it won't even POST (that is to say, go to the BIOS stuff). I've tried just about
