I'll be absent from Fimfiction for a few days now, as I'm going to be at this year's UK PonyCon in Nottingham. It's possible I might look in on this site occasionally, but don't count on it. I'll be back on Monday, but it might be another day or two before I get my, er, unconventional bearings back.

Got home a couple of hours ago. Had a fantastic time. Proof that a great convention doesn't have to have a huge attendance or big-name guests. This was my sixth. It was also the best. Proper report coming in due course.

No, not this weekend. Next weekend. I'll be off at UK PonyCon for the sixth year running, and I hope I'll see one or two of you there! As we surely all know by now the official broadcast of the very last FiM episodes will be on Saturday 12th October. That's the first day of the con. UK PonyCon was glorious. I am so happy to have been there. Now I'm going to sleep for about 300 hours.

Even though it was a shorter affair for me this year than usual, it was still great to get to Nottingham for UK PonyCon. As ever, a big part of this was catching up with friends I hadn't seen for a long time, especially at the pre-meet at the Roebuck on Friday night. The two names that people on here are most likely to know are Ghost Mike and hawthornbunny, but there were quite a few more -- including folks going for their first ever convention. UK Ponycon 2015 was awesome! I only got to go on the Saturday, but I had an absolute blast, met some very cool people, and even got a little bit of merch (despite telling myself I was on a budget!) As always, I thought I'd do a con write-up, so here ya go!

Ponycon covers all generations of MLP, from G4 (our gen) all the way back to G1. I was kinda worried that there wouldn't be a whole lot of Friendship is Magic stuff/people, but I was pleasantly surprised!

Running from 11 am to 11 pm UK time, with the usual convention mixture of panels, games, vendors... oh, you know the form. So, a little while ago, my good pal and illustrator Colby Green went to Crystal Mountain Ponycon in Salt Lake City. It made sense, him being a native of the great acceptable extant state of Utah and all. He had a great time, but in a move that I think was unbelievably cool... he took some of the pictures of Turing Test from The Iron Horse and got other people to draw her!
