Sudden Revise · 11:31pm Jan 27th, 2017

Slight change of plans for this weekend. After actually bothering to, you know, look at the schedule of events and taking the advice of more experienced congoers into account, I decided that going to Ponycon on Saturday rather than Sunday would be a much more rewarding experience.

However, this does not come without a cost. The time I usually spend preparing Friendship is Card Games is going to be utterly shot. As such, while it should go up on Sunday, it definitely won't be doing so that morning. Just letting you all know.

This breach of the natural order will surely have consequences, you realize.

Woot woot! I hope it's a blast!

Yeah, from experience and second-hand accounts, SUndays are where cons go to die.

Prudent decisions. Enjoy yourself!

Dude, you were going to a con only on the Sunday?! All the crazy stuff happens on the Saturday. Probably has a lot to do with there being craptons of people on the Saturday than any other day. Make sure you freed storage on your phone so you can take shittons of photos of cosplayers or bring an actual camera. Also having a couple of water bottles around is convenient. Oh, and a backpack or messenger bag to carry stuff, even if you only bring a few things. If you're anything like me, you're gonna spend ungodly amounts at the vendor hall. Try to pace yourself. Also, if you buy swag, make sure it's stuff aren't likely to find at some store or online easily. Or that it's cheap enough to be worth it. Y'know, crap like Twilight's Secret Shipfic Folder and its expansions, laser etched pony jewelry and lighters, fan artist prints, Magic singles that are hard to get or cheaper than your local shop, fan made (preferably not tacky and still functional) jewelry, pony themed buttons. I would try avoiding commercially made stuff like MLP season DVDs cuz you can buy those later online for possibly cheaper. Oh, and MLP blindbags unless they're older sets (use sites to look up the bag codes to nab those specific ponies. Y'know, if you ain't against such a thing). The point is commercially made stuff is easier to get and you can get it outside of the con. Buy handmade stuff and collectibles.

And bring shareable treats for easy friend points, if you so desire. Your friends will appreciate it when they're on their last legs near the end of the day when they spent all their money and can't buy con food. Dubs Rewatcher shared a giant ziplock freezerbag of cookies at Bronycon. Well, it was more like a bag of chocolate chip chunks. The bag had been crushed a lot in the airplane's baggage hold. But man, they were some damn fine cookie bits cuz man I did not want to go out and buy something for merienda.

Oh, and don't cosplay as anything with guns or swords unless you did research on the con rules beforehand.

Oh oh and if there's any celebrities like voice actors and actresses, make sure to remember to bring extra money and stuff you want them to autograph like DVDs or comics.

And if you can't make up your mind on what to do, just follow people you know online who will inevitably show up irl.
