Ponyfeather Publishing: Call for Submissions CLOSED · 11:32pm May 29th, 2019
Hey folks,
Hey folks,
So, I'm bad with release dates. I said Friday but I got through all the revising the Pre-Reader asked me to do last night, so I decided "Screw it, give the people the new thing!" Thus, I have uploaded the new and improved first three chapters of The Chance of a Lifetime for your viewing pleasure!
A quick list of things I changed from the original upload:
So, first off I have to say the next chapter of Family is still being written but it won't be out for a bit longer as I've been finishing an older project.
Also, I'm working on an entry for the Black Library Open submissions contest. I've written things for them in the past as part of similar events, but I've never managed to get them published. Fingers crossed I can do it this time.
So, once again, I am bad with date setting. I couldn't wait any longer to finish my new chapter before re-submit, and I decided that it would be better to just show the chapters that the pre-reader has seen before so they could better look for the issues I fixed. I'll keep you updated on how the process goes, but I've got a good feeling about this!
Not done any readings for a while, and I'm always open to requests, so don't be shy to ask me about them!
With multiple readers sending me numerous OC's, it made sense to standardise how they are submitted for the future.
I have created a Gdoc form in order for you to submit characters for Dying Embers and the planned sequel. By filling in the form, the character will be added to the character pool and have the chance to be selected.
Copying this here from the group forum in the hopes of getting more interest in it:
Okay, we got our 25 (actually 26) submissions filled in about 90 minutes, but we're not quite done yet.
If you missed the chance to submit during the midnight opening, you have another chance. In fact, even if you did submit, you can get a second fic in.
This is not for CoC story, Break Reality and the skill level is like 9 is god level. Now please don't spam this blog with CoC characters. We will throw those out automatically and we can tell which is for which story.
I and my co-author are looking for OC generals for our story, Darkness Bathing.
So, I was mostly finished with the prologue of the Winner for the follow-up story (the Sexy RPG world with Rainbow and Rarity as the primary protagonists) and had just gotten a decent night’s sleep when I woke up with an idea; Why not make it more RPG-like when Rarity and Rainbow are in the world of the story by having the readers play out the characters in each chapter, I’ll explain.
I'm thrilled by the response to opening submissions for the first Ponyfeather Publishing anthology: I have over 1,000,000 words representing over 150 authors in the submission queue!
There’s only one chapter left to post for True Magic. Can’t say when it’ll be done, but what I can say is…soon. I do hope you enjoy the finale to this long freakin’ story. It’s been a long time coming but it’s almost done.
Hey readers, just a heads up that Hemelein Publishing has opened a submission call for their latest LUTE Benefit Anthology, For Glory and Honor!
So, I posted this and as I said in the author's notes of Chapter 1, I thought it would be a good idea to include OCs from the reader! Because X-com has that dynamic of allowing me to edit the names of soldiers and such, I just thought 'hey, why not?' I have a couple of characters from the show that are a part of the narrative, but I can only work with so many characters from the show, background or not.
Hiya! The thread I provided in my last blog post, where folks may suggest prompts or story ideas for my list of projects, was accidentally archived on the mysmall.horse forums. That issue has been fixed, so now registered users may comment on it. In the future, I shall also provide work-in-progress entries, and use the thread to post unfinished drafts for proofreading or critique. Any and all assistance is welcome!
I just sent my new Christmas story into submission!
Edit: It's approved and tagged below. ^^
So after several failed attempts I finally managed to get the first couple of chapters submitted for pre reading. It turns out I may be partially blind. I was wondering why it kept saying that the work could not be published and why it said that I should check I met all the requirements.
As it turns out, I'm just dumb. I didn't realise that I needed to 'publish' each individual chapter before publishing the story itself!
…and don't have a solid idea to throw your words at, here are some possibilities which could earn you actual money! Arranged by deadline:
1) Everfree Northwest's Scribblefest
They're seeking pony stories of 2000-6000 words by Monday, March 6. The prompt is "Growing up wild and forever free". There are six categories, each of which has a prize of $20 plus possible publication in the conbook.
I have just hired someone to stitch the video for Chapter 130, so I think that means I should make the public announcement for CHAPTER 127 of Songs of the Spheres - Different Views of Reality. Some people have already submitted snips, but this serves both as the first official announcement and as a reminder to them that they should get writing!
