The restoration of Griffonstone is postponed as some of the helpers have been kidnapped by a bunch of griffons from outside of Equestria. Some of them might have connections to Gallus.
Gallus didn't grow up with friends or family, let alone anything more. When a bubbly pink hippogriff wants to spend more time with him, will their friendship crash and burn, or will a heart iced over by years of neglect thaw and want something more?
Gallus wants to ask Sliverstream out to lunch. One problem, he's really bad at opening up about his feelings. So, he tells a fib to deflect from his true intentions, and things just escalate from there.
Gallus wants to give a present to Silverstream during the Three Days of Freedom Celebration, but what do you give to a hippogriff who thinks everything is the best thing ever?
(Takes place after "What Lies Beneath".) Gallus finds him in love with Silverstream, but he doesn't know how to tell her. Meanwhile, Silverstream is having her own problems, though they have little to do with Gallus.
"It all happened so long ago - or did it? I'm not the same as I once was." Gallus is about to discover that just because you've buried a part of yourself, because the pain is too strong, does not mean it's lost forever - and Silverstream will help.
Heartache is not so easily overcome. Indeed, many can quickly heal and move on. But for many others, healing is a long, arduous journey that never seems to end. Luckily, the path to healing is easiest when those you love stand by your side.
Gallus wants to ask Silverstream to the Amity Ball their sophomore year without embarrassing them both to death. Silverstream wants that, too. The Spirit of the Tree of Harmony, learning of this, wants to help.
(Stand alone sequel to "Gallus' Guard Training".) Gallus goes off to fight in a war for Equestria, much to the dismay of Silverstream as the two have only just gotten engaged. Before he leaves, Gallus offers her some words of encouragement.
