Well, as for how it would effect his time in the series, it would probably be more towards his duties with Twilight, although he would still have free time with friends. I kinda think he would possibly spend more time with Fluttershy, partially out of ego since she was so dang interested in everything about him at first, but it would probably even out into more of a friendship.
