After years of shame and ridicule, archaeologist and explorer Lyra Heartstrings stumbles across a discovery that validates all her theories and ideas in one fell swoop. Along with her best friend, Bon Bon, and her old classmate Cadance, they find themselves faced with a mystery and marvel that may change everything.

Following the next greatest lead found in the database of an ancient race, another international team is formed. Led by Doctors Carter and Jackson, they strike out to explore another network of Stargates discovered in a galaxy on the edge of the local cluster. In the process, their findings will cause them to question much of what they thought they knew.

The adventures continue and unlikely allies will face dangers new and old as the Legacy of the Ancients continue to unravel in the latest chapter of the universe.

For many years Equestria has lived through time unaware of what lies beyond the stars. Except for the flying military power known as the Wonder-Bolts. They've managed to keep one of the greatest secrets ever in Equestrian history, the Stargate. Although the Wonder-Bolts have left the Stargate locked up in an abandoned base to soon fall victim to the erosion of time, they've decided to start up the project to start once again. The Stargate base is now fully restored and ready for use but one issue remains. Protocol addresses that teams of different specialties must be organized before any gate travel is established. And the one team left to form is the infamous squad of reconnaissance and exploration, SE-1.

Note: not all rules of gate travel from the tv show (SG-1) will be used.

SG-1 is sent through the Stargate as a forward scouting team for an extended scientific mission to P3X-597. Arriving in a long abandoned castle, the team heads out for the nearest village. As they approach, it becomes clear that the locals aren't exactly human. Their contact with the pony-like aliens goes well, conveniently timed alongside a celebration of the sun, until an over-the-top, hammy, evil pony appears to ruin the festivities.
