Shining Armor would be more frustrated with him... if he wasn't so hopelessly in love with him. But Flash is straight, and so Shining Armor is left to pine alone, comforted by his gay wife. Oh, right; he's married, too!

But when Shining Armor finds out that Flash Sentry has gotten in over his head far more seriously this time, he races to the rescue; but what if everything is not what it seems? Outpost 13...often considered the most unlucky posting to be given when you’re a Royal Guard. It holds no real tactical value, and was built long ago before the Unification Period of the Three Pony Tribes. It’s now more of a historical site, being the last-standing remnant of a bygone era. It’s useless, it’s remote, and it’s boring.

And it’s the perfect dumping ground for when you want to get rid of three of the Royal Guard’s worst soldiers ever.

Private Samwise Tater (the Thinker), Corporal Plucky Guess (the Cynic), and Private Prism Rain (the Sleeper) --- the three of them have been at Outpost 13 for one year now, all on their own. Once you’ve been there that long, you begin to develop a routine: wake up at 0600, eat, then stave off boredom for the next 18 hours before it’s time to go to bed. Usually by talking or planning ways to take over the world, or if nothing else, how to raid Princess Celestia’s cake stash without getting caught.

Today’s their one year anniversary, and they’re at their breaking point.

Ocellus confesses her horrible crimes to Counselor Trixie. Counselor Trixie seems less than impressed.

This story was going to be my entry in the 179th Writeoff contest, "I've Waited so Long for This...." But that was a minific contest, and I quickly realized this was gonna end up being way too long.

So I thought I'd enter it in the Original Pairings group's Speed Writing contest since I don't find many stories where Ocellus meets Pony Joe...or Donut Joe or Joe the Donut Pony or whatever name he goes by these days. But when Trixie shoehorned her way in to such a large extent, I abandoned that idea as well.

Here it is now, though, but not on my Baal Bunny account where WriteOff-related stories go as a rule. Because this is all about breaking the rules!

I never expected much to happen to me when I joined the Royal Guard. It's a nice job, don't get me wrong, but all those stories about saving the princess and getting a reward were just stories. Of course, sometimes those stories come true and in the came of myself I happened to have done just that. I saved Princess Celestia and in return I got to go out on a date with her.

After Luna had been banished to the moon, Celestia got drunk, real drunk. Drunk enough to make up several laws she completely forgot about for a thousand years. What happens when Luna discovers one of these laws, and what's worse, she actually likes the sound of it.

Complete chaos as the mane six now find themselves unintentionally being wed to two Princesses.
