A letter from Celestia interrupts one of Pinkie's parties with disturbing news. Now friendships will be pushed to the limit as Twilight struggles to uncover which of her friends is not who, or even what, she appears to be.

After a thousand years of banishment to the moon, Luna returns to find that not many ponies remember her. She has spent much of her time since her return hiding from the world, not even taking control of her night sky back from her elder sister. One night, she is convinced to slowly take command of her realm by Celestia. After the disastrous invasion of Canterlot, an injured changeling wakes up near a small cottage and is quickly discovered by two of the last ponies she ever wanted to see. Now, with the help of her new "friends," she has to remain undetected in a town high on changeling hysteria that would not hesitate to throw her in the Canterlot dungeons should her true nature be revealed.

Simple, right?
