Princess Celestia has finally decided to introduce her two prized pupils to each other, hoping that together they'll finally start to appreciate the beauty and magic of friendship. Sunset may be proud and brash, and Twilight might be obsessive and oblivious at times, but surely they'll get along fine, right?

They'll go above and beyond that in time, but the road they'll take to get there is a rocky one.

Rarity and Twilight have been dating happily for a few months. At every given opportunity, Rarity takes the chance to tell their love story. It doesn't matter if anypony actually wants to listen or how many times they may have heard it already, she's going to tell them anyway. She cannot be stopped, such is the power of love.

Tonight was Twilight's third date with Rarity, her best friend and hopefully soon-to-be-marefriend. Though nothing had happened yet, and she was still trying to come to terms with the fact that something might happen, she was determined to make their third date even better than their last.

Third time’s the charm, right?

Twilight has learned that ponies can change a lot in only a year or two.

And she's okay with that. Maybe.

Rarity is caught in a huge blizzard, and the only safe haven nearby is Twilight's castle. When she spends time with her alicorn friend in front of the fire, a bitter cold day turns into the warmest and coziest of nights.

Pop-cultural investigative reporter Coranto has heard some pretty out-there excuses for rumors. Some were even true. But when castle gossip says Luna has had a baby, and she claims she's created an entity to patrol dreams called the Tantabus, Coranto knows she's smelling a load of hogwash. The idea is absurd. Patently. Never one to let the truth hide, Coranto decides she will get to the bottom of these rumors, and nothing will dissuade her. Not anything Luna says. Not even the Tantabus itself taking an interest in her crusade.

The new and improved Tantabus has behaved itself thus far, but Luna has delayed telling Celestia about it. Until one night when it jumps into Celestia's dreams to say hi and inadvertently reveals itself. Luna must now introduce Celestia to her little bundle of self-aware psychic dream energy sooner than she imagined.

Trying to patrol the dreams of every pony in Equestria can be stressful. To ease her burden, Luna retools the Tantabus to turn nightmares into good dreams instead of vice versa. Aware of her mistakes from last time, she tests it out thoroughly, making sure there are no unexpected behaviors. And as far as she can tell, there are none.

Except that it's started calling her "Mom".

Faced with the prospect of possibly creating life, Luna seeks out Twilight's advice and assistance. With a little luck, they can get this all sorted out before the sun rises.

After a particularly awful day, Rarity's sour mood has her itching for an argument. Her target: Twilight Sparkle. Rarilight.

Twilight and her friends agree to get together to watch fireworks at the Founding Festival, and she finds she's grown to be quite attracted to a certain mare. As much as these feelings blind side her, she decides she'll act on them.
