This story is set about 4 to 5 hundred years after the event's of FiM, after technology advanced to beyond our current standards, and then war, famine and plague destroyed Equestria. Reading and writing are skills possessed only by ponies who worked hard to learn what all the funny little squiggles in the few still intact books meant. There is no money, only trade, and because of shortage of edible greenery, ponies have evolved to eat meat as a large part of their diet.

The spelling and grammar in this story will be an English teacher's nightmare, but it is in this style because the protagonist, and most every other character, are illiterate, and if they have mastered writing, there is no formalized way of grammar and spelling, like before Shakespeare's time.

This story is a ponified version of Moira Young's brilliant story Blood Red Road. As soon as I read it I wanted to read a ponified version of it, so I decided to write my own to share with the Brony community.

After saving the future from Paradox, Yusei prepares to return to his own time. But when the Crimson Dragon veers off course in the rift, Yusei finds himself in a strange new world... populated by brightly colored talking equines. Yusei meets Twilight Sparkle and her friends and becomes their friend as well, even teaching them how to duel. But something isn't sitting right with Yusei and he soon learns why he was brought here when an ancient enemy reappears and goes on a destructive rampage.

This is my first attempt at pony fanfiction, though not my first try at writing in general. I have no idea how this is gonna go, but be honest.

Regarding the duels: I intend to describe the actual gameplay just as much as the monsters and card animations. I'm not just a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, but a Duelist myself. As far as the rules go, I'll try to help the unfamiliar understand the game in the beginning. Card and player stats will also be displayed during the duel portions of the story (I'll try and write it so that they don't disrupt the flow of the story too much). But beyond the stats and character descriptions of their cards, you'll have to look stuff up yourself. You can do so on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki.

Rarity finally realizes that she has the same feelings for Spike... But it's too late...

Spike seems to have moved on, while Rarity is stuck impressing him and trying to get him to have feelings for her once again. What Rarity doesn't know is Spike still loves her, but he's getting sick and tired of the way she treats him, even though he's a teenager now. Will this be a roller coaster ride for both of our lovelies, or will it end horribly?
