All the Smallest Things is complete! Revised version coming soon to Fimfiction

Earlier today, I wrote the final chapter of All the Smallest Things. It was a lot of fun... a lot more fun than Rainbows After Rain, for reasons I can't quite figure out. In summary, it's a crossover between G5 and the Pokémon games where Pokémon start appearing in Equestria, and the Scarlet/Violet trio team up

Started a G5/Pokémon crossover on SpaceBattles

Pokémon are appearing all over Equestria. With the help of some new friends, the New Mane 6 are determined to find out why.

It's called All the Smallest Things. Why am I not posting it on Fimfiction right away? Well...

So it's been eight years since I joined Fimfiction

I originally joined to participate in A New World, a New Way just as it was starting to die, but ended up getting into a lot of non-crossovers as well. I still think my standout fic is Silent Wings; while I had to rush the last two chapters, it helped me break a lot of new ground. My interest in My Little Pony has phased in and out over the years, and I don't use this site as much as I used to.

Rainbows After Rain chapter 3 is almost finished!

I just need someone to beta-read it. Here's another sneak peak:

Moony raised her head. “Pleeease can you let us in? Pretty please? We need to do something important!”

    “How important?” asked the hippogriff.

“It’s super, duper important!” Moony continued. “See, we want to find out—”

“I’ve heard you have the most accurate historical records on the continent,” Sol interrupted.

Rainbows After Rain concepts: beyond Equestria-That-Was · 8:51pm Oct 3rd, 2022

A lot can change in a millennium. Rainbows After Rain only focuses on three of the species who took up residence in Equestria's former borders, but I have vague ideas for how to expand this universe. Call it an expanded alternate universe, or XAU for short.

  • After the pearl shards stopped working, seaponies and hippogriffs went their separate ways. The largest seapony city is Atlantropolis, situated in the open, photic ocean far off the coast of Equestria-That-Was. Over the generations, they've mastered the art of coral architecture and built towers that reach the surface. They double as habitats for wild animals and plants, though some denizens like to cultivate gardens on the walls outside their levels. Picture an eco-punk version of the city from Shark Tale, but with less Will Smith.
  • In the furthest north, far beyond even Yakyakistan, lives a remote population of reindeer. Back when magic filled the world, the stags would lead their herds until their lost their antlers and ability to use telekinesis in the winter, then the does would take over until the summer, but nowadays it's a moot point. The Gift-Givers of the Grove haven't been seen in a long time - some think they died when they lost the magic that made them immortal, while others think they disappeared in the same way that ponies did.
  • Griffons are thriving. The loss of magic didn't hurt them at all because they didn't have it, putting them on a higher playing field than the countless magic-reliant foreign powers. They also interbred with hippogriffs; it's believed that most of the population of Mt. Zephyr have at least two griffon ancestors.

Ooh, interesting lore bits!!

Excellent description of some of the other species and how the loss of magic affected them. And, yeah, the part about the loss of magic actually promoting the Griffons to the top of the food chain makes sense. Of course, the yaks would also be unaffected as, like the griffons, they had no magic to lose- just pure brute strength and very thick fur.

Dragons would, obviously, be about medium-hit (even though the dragons still have their strength, tough scales and flying ability, they lost their flame breath and increased longevity) - not as hard hit as some (as already mentioned), but still had some loss.

5690171 Dragons will be addressed in Rainbows After Rain soon.

Okay. Yeah. That makes sense. Thanks for the heads up there.
