This particular piece of deep shock was commissioned by Snowliasion. I had some warning that they intended to do so, was consulted on a few details, and... then pretty much forgot about it for a few months, because this has not been a particularly good year. But it's something Snowliasion wanted to do (and continued wanting to do even after I had the usual small panic attack), and I'm officially site-debuting the result. Please grant all thanks for the art's existence to them.

I had some issues in getting the picture to go into the blog. The original image on DeviantArt (created by CrimsonWolf360, and please use that page for commenting directly to the artist) is over 10MB. If you want a little more detail for the picture, you should probably use the link. You can also contact the artist if you're curious about commission rates.

And in case you're curious: they pretty much had a free hand in designing the mark. So now that's an Equiportent Diagram.

Who knew?

...clearly not the writer...

lovely, got the coat color wrong in my head (been a long time since I have read a description of her to be honest) but the mane and tail were accurate in my head at least, now I have something to go off of going into the stories.

FoME could tell you stories about things that only happened because of the artist. (Lemures. :derpytongue2:)

Lovely stuff. I always pictured her cutie mark as a convoluted nightmare of a circuit diagram, but this works too.

And for those wondering what 5678876's on about, lemures are a form of ghost, specifically the spirits of the unburied dead in classical Roman tradition.

Unfortunately, no one ever told Richard Thomas, and, well...

The rest is card game meme history.

Great to see fan art of this fan favorite Estee OC! It turns out that she’s quite cute when her face isn’t being devoured by a mechanical spider-thing. Like the touch of the grease-stained hooves!

You say "this was not a good year."

Not to be snide, but I've been following you since (2015? 2016?) & just offhand I'd have said "You don't have good years. Your years vary between bad & worse. "

:fluttershyouch:

That's a helium atom? Well, in the story, Ratchette says most folks don't know what the mark means.

:rainbowderp:

Mechanical Aptitude was long ago posted in The Triptych Continuum Rebooted in the "Ponyville" folder.

Ratchette is also in the Twilight chapter in Sick Little Ponies (And One Sick Dragon) which is in the "Unassigned" folder

Cute. Looks friendly, nervous, and a bit grungy, just as she should. The equiportent diagram looks fine to me too. Sort of symmetrical, there’s not a lot of entropy or information there, but I guess it’s more the idea of an equiportent diagram rather than any specific example of one. Disappointed with those tools though: I’m well aware those combo wrenches and screwdrivers evolved to fit a human hand. Let’s see her mechanical facehugger instead!

The Snap-On toolbox is the crowning touch. No real mechanic crafts the trade without the bright red box on wheels that holds so many wonderous things...

Ooh, nice! Fan art is just lovely, isn't it? :raritystarry:

From the country of Lemuria?

Reminds me of the biologist guy who ended up working at Bletchly Park, cracking codes, because someone doing job applications confused Cryptograms and Cryptographs?:twilightoops:

The difference between Snap On and Rolls Royce?

Rolls dont come round with a van to deliver a new part for free when you manage to break the old one with a 6 foot breaker bar? :trixieshiftright:

Aww, Rachette! She's one of my favorite characters of yours, it's great to see some art of her. ^^ And they kept the grease stains! I wish there had been a way to easily show the stigmata of her face manipulator, but that's outside of this art style.

Great art! Thanks for sharing.

Nice!

Thanks, Snowliasion. :)
