Ratchet and Clank Note · 11:15pm Jul 7th, 2022
I've noticed that not a lot of people seem interested in the ongoing Ratchet and Clank story, especially given some of the changes and additions I've made recently, so I'm considering finishing the ongoing Tools arc the normal way and then just rapidly moving through the Time, A4O, and Nexus arcs, as in condensing the information into a smaller number of chapters, so we can get to Rift Apart and wrap up Autumn and Starswirl's story.
Isn't rushing it, bad?
5670901 Maybe, but right now, when next to no one is commenting/reading... well, the story seems to be in a bad position anyway, so I can't do much worse than simply continuing what I've been doing so far.
Sorry been a bit busy as of late to comment. I have shared your story on a Discord channel and hopefully it may drive some traffic.
5670904 To be honest, when I decided to write this post I wasn't expecting to read such a thing. Thanks for doing such a thing.
I’m actually wondering if I could suggest a few ideas for the story?
5670909 Go right ahead. I'm always open to suggestions.
Personally I've been following along but I'm rather lost on a lot of the Rift Apart references since I just haven't be able to play it yet, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's got the reader count so low as a lot of people simply don't have a PS5 yet. It was easy to retain interest during the earlier arcs as the references were few and generally didn't interact with the main plot too strongly beyond simply fitting in what I'm assuming are story details that should have been there the whole time from Rift Apart. But now it's becoming a major focus (with good reason mind) which is making me consider dropping off the story sooner than expected to avoid potential spoilers until I can play it, and I would not be surprised if the same is true for others.
I'd certainly be coming back to this story after I can get there as R&C is one of my favorite game franchises and the story is certainly good, I just don't think rushing into Rift Apart would be a good idea because it's too new and too hard for most people to play atm.
5670915 That's a very understandable reason.
Although I’m not reading the story, I felt that including Rift Apart was something of a mistake. You either should of left doing this story until later in the series or left out the game completely.
I do plan on playing Rift Apart myself but until I can get/afford a PS5 I’m avoiding everything I can about the game and I wouldn't be surprised if other people are doing the same.
The low reader count is somewhat surprising given the franchise in question but low reader count seems to be a problem with all your recent stories but at least you’ve shook off the dislikes so that’s something.
5670956 I know getting the system is hard for people, but I honestly didn't think of such a thing when I started the story... and with all I've written so far, well, I can't just cut Rift Apart out of the story, and I can't put it on pause when I finish the Nexus arc, since there's no telling when more people will get the game. I do understand your point.
