I realize it had been quite some time since i updated The Freelancers, and i figured it was about time to explain just why that is.
The short answer is that i have ran into a few problems when it comes to writing the story's second act, focusing on the wind down after the previous events and building up to the next big thing for the characters to deal with.
The longer answer is that i did actually have the entire second (and part of the third) act fully written, but not edited, and upon going back to edit it all, i realized that the story had gone off the rails a little bit during said second act, and as a result, I didn't want to release something that pretty much spit in the face of the previous chapters.
So i scrapped the lot (almost as many words as the story has now.) much to my frustration, leading to the longest gap in posting since i started. So now things are delayed (again) until i can fix the problems i had with the scrapped second act.
I want to be clear that this isn't me abandoning the story, far from it in fact. I now have the motivation to salvage what i can from what i scrapped and hope to have a workable chapter out in a little while, but i don't know when.
Just finished chapter 58 and I can't wait for more, seriously.
This story got me invested and I've actually recently started my own cyberpunk story and I won't lie but I enjoyed this so much that I've subconciously drawn a bit of inspiration from your story

I'll admit that it's slow going at the moment, but i feel like i have a level of standard that i have to keep up for people like yourselves who have become so invested that it would be a shame to mess up now.
It's funny you should say that actually, since my story takes inspiration from a number of Cyberpunk stories on here as well.

Slow and steady does win a race too, so don't worry about it. Just let me know when a new chapter is posted (as I admittedly am not the most active when it comes to checking my notifications, oops!) and I'll tear into it like no tomorrow.
And hey, inspiration is the highest form of flattery, right?
