This is a little progress report to help put the final version of Moondust into a better perspective.

    16/03/2022 - M… Moondust V4!

So after three years of serving fried chicken I left my job last month. No worries, it’s all good.

Now that I have some free time on my hands, I have the chance to write more, art more, and get my life back into balance. Still no promises when it comes to speed and dates for chapters and things, but my creative juices are flowing a lot more smoothly now, which is good.

16/11/2021 - Starswirl's Second Law of Thaumium Growth

It's been a while. Chapter 19 of Moondust is trucking along. No set date, as usual, but it'll definitely be out before Christmas, and it'll be the largest chapter by far, so hopefully it'll be worth the wait!

In my uneducated opinion, Terry Pratchett and George R.R. Martin are probably polar opposites.

    26/05/2021 - Lesson Learned

I'm not sure where the year went, but I'm still here, trying and failing to be productive. Chapter 15 is in the final clean-up phase, so expect to see that before the end of next week.

So… I’m doing the thing again. I know I said I wouldn’t until the story was finished, but… the thought of getting rid of plot holes and making the story into something I can truly feel proud of was too strong to resist. Since starting Moondust in 2019 my writing style has changed a number of times, and my skill in storytelling is now reaching an actually functional level. Dead-end characters like Chestnut and Quilliam are now slotting into the plot alongside everyone else. The various stories that surround Moondust’s timeline are all converging into a cohesive narrative that have the potential to become, I think, something great. Something fun to read and discover your way through, each telling a piece of a larger whole, just as I always wanted them to.

I won’t go into details just yet, but I will say that I’ve learned the lessons I ran into while writing version 3, and that version 4 will be, finally, the last version of Moondust.

I have a lot of writing ahead of me, and even more beyond that. For once, I’m happy to say that I feel clear-minded about the path forward, and I only hope you have the patience to follow me on it.
