This last chapter has been a bit of a nightmare. · 5:53am Mar 11th, 2022
Okay so this last chapter I had to deal with summoning magic and pets, full in the face. Lemme outline a bit of the problems with it for you:
Nobody likes it when their pet dies, in this setting that's easy to get over, make them just as immortal as their masters(yunguaq are biologically immortal).
Now you've got a new problem, what if you get hit in the head with a meteorite while away from home, your pet survived that but you didn't and we have a surplus dog, on the kind of scales that this fiction works on this would build up until there were more surplus pets than grains of sand on earth and the problem keeps expanding and there is no good solution for how to deal with that, without centralizing pets.
And then the problems with this kept going on, and on, and on, branching out at every junction. Everything I came up with had it's own host of problems that I had to work through and I think I went through about 5 solutions, all fractally exploding with logistical and ethical problems before I finally found something that would finally work for summons and pets(the two are somewhat tied together even though I don't actually get into pets in this chapter).
It's still going to be a while, probably about a week or so before this chapter finally comes out, but it's been a behind the scenes nightmare of me playing whack a mole dealing with all kinds of problems.
