Early March Story Update · 9:09pm Mar 5th, 2022
Sorry for the dearth of info lately, but I’ve been busy with some not entirely pleasant stuff, whose nature I will not divulge. But here’s where my stories stand right now. I’m tagging this Midnight Rising only because it’s first in line for release; I really wish they’d allow us to tag more than one story in blog posts at once.
Midnight Rising:
First order of business: the new Midnight Rising chapter is not ready yet as I’ve only been able to work on it in bits and pieces over the past week. It’s currently at 5600 words and I will try to have it draft complete by tomorrow, but that means it probably won’t go out until Tuesday or Wednesday. It will take that long to get prereads in and make multiple editing passes.
As for highlights, another new race is going to be (briefly) introduced, while another far more familiar one will make its first appearance at the end of the chapter. Aside from our favorite High Priestess domming Sour Sweet and addicting her to dick as well as showing just why she adores black holes, the chapter includes a catchup with our three favorite school heads as well our favorite failed couple from the show (Big Mac and Cheerilee), and the first appearance of futa in the story.
Feathered Hearts
I’m not currently working on this, but I was compelled to go into both Eros and Continuation and Chronicles recently in order to do a pair of retcons. The first is I went chapter-by-chapter to fix all instances of Gilda’s eyes being referred to as blue. They’re now gold, as they should be. I’m truly sorry; I’m still not sure how I got it in my head that they were blue when there are countless examples otherwise online. 
The second is that I went back into Chapter 6 (the Hall of Heroes chapter) and drastically toned down the political overtones there after I received another complaint in the comments. After I listened to the offending areas recited, I decided that they were indeed much too jarring and needed to be pared way back. So they should be a lot less obtrusive now. They’re not entirely gone, but what’s left is what I feel are perfectly reasonable observations by our human friends of the difference between their culture and the griffon one. Sorry, but sometimes I have to come back to something a lot later before I see what’s wrong with it. That’s what happens when you get a bit too wedded to your writing. 
Firefly
The next chapter of Into the Storm is half-done. It will consist of only two medium-sized sections this time and probably max out at around 9k words, opening with a Captain’s Mast that determines the fate of Fell Flight and Firefly after their duel over Thunderbolt and Gavian. The second section will be seeing the Maresk campaign from the Gryphon side, as described by our favorite former Red Talon Ambassador. Estimated draft completion is mid to late week, with an eye on a weekend release. Look for a possible teaser later. This will be #2 of the promised six Firefly chapters to be released by summer.
Harmonic Resonance
This will be my next clop chapter after the new Midnight Rising entry is completed, featuring what’s likely going to be the hardest chapter of the story I will write: it’s time for our favorite party girl to ascend.
