Just a quick note to let everyone know that over five months since the last entry was published, a new chapter of Into the Storm is underway. The first 1400 words are down, and it will detail the second engagement of Rock Biter’s Equestrian Army regiment at Harness Hill, including the story of how they got their nickname of the “Daisy Regiment”.
I’m not honestly sure how long it will take me to write, as I’ve been away from it for a while and will need to put myself back into the right frame of mind for it--meaning that unlike with how Feathered Hearts is turning out, I can’t put sex appeal in it as well. It’s not that kind of story and it would cheapen it if I tried.
But no matter. It may interest you folks to know that Firefly herself will play a role in Feathered Hearts eventually. How is that possible, you ask? That’s a surprise for later, but I do remind you that she is enshrined at the Gryphon Kingdom’s Hall of Heroes, for helping to defend the Kingdom from the post-war attack of Dragon Lord Diabla. You will meet her before too long, though she isn’t a dragon lord yet.
Needless to say, this will be a battle chapter. Will I make maps for it? I believe I will. It may delay things a bit, but they’re generally worth it. And for those Feathered Hearts readers seeing this, I invite you again to check out my Firefly series while you’re waiting for more human/griffie goodness. You won’t be disappointed.
I can't wait to see how Rock Biter handles his withdrawal. Part One was incredible! But I'm predicting a pretty grim butcher's bill for his army. He's already lost so many and hasn't even met the main body of the Imperials yet.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter. It was time Firefly got updated too since the last chapter was also preceded by a pause of a few months.
